    XL883TT Build

Just a little update. Having to redo my exhaust mount, deer ran out in front of me and I laid her over. Fortunately just my ego was hurt, two turn signal covers, and mirror along with scratched exhaust. All I can say after putting 200 miles on my bike is: its a heavy weight brawler with the...

    XL883TT Build

Got my bars on, gotta do some fine tuning with them. I know a lot don't like the underglow lights, but with me hammering down rural roads anything that makes me more visible the better. Having to contact chainsikle to get a new brake peddle made, waiting to hear from them on it. Once...

    XL883TT Build

Stupid forward controls are part of the mounts for the engine, decided to take the IDGAF approach to put my exhaust on. Gonna have to get some new pegs too. having to make space for the brake but should be too much trouble. The rearsets put your ass on the rear of the seat and on the rear...

    XL883TT Build

parts came off easier than expected. The pipe doesnt use a cable but a rod to control the valve for the baffle I disliked the chrome heatshields, pulled them off. It doesn't look too bad, just sizing it up and seeing what I need to do bracket wise since this was meant for a rubbermount...

    XL883TT Build

Hammer performance had nothing but good things to say about it, apparently for 300 bucks it delivers a lot of of power. a 24hp gain over stock on on of the 1200 conversions http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=1745266

the intake is the screaming eagle kit, just don't have the plate for it. I don't know about power but it for sure opened up air flow, it was like a 3x2" hole stock. One difference I did notice was I went from 45-50mpg to 55-60 on the highway.

Well looks like I need to add headlight to the list, have a 55/75watt bulb with no relay. Fortunately no fire, just melted connector, thats on the list to change/fix.

    XL883TT Build

Well a step closer of sorts. ordered handlebars and exhaust. the exhaust is patriot 2 into 1, it was cheap and has a built in butterfly valve to allow me to quiet down the bike at will. Also some clubman handlebars meant for a sportster. Right now looking at paint, thinking metal flake unsure...

    XL883TT Build

It would help if I post in the right place first lol Anyhow,I don't have much build content yet as I've got a couple of more pieces I need to get, but have an idea for the build and already nabbed some of the key pieces for the build. I thought about upgrading to the 1200cc cylinders but for now...

    Kawasaki KZ440 on a budget

Just a tad bit of an update. I let the bike sit for quite a while and found the chinese mikunis I was using seemed had the aluminum bowls dissolve to the point I could poke a hole through them with a small screwdriver. No idea on what caused it but I am back on the stock Keihins and working on...

Float and carb adjustment? 68 CB350

Re: gas leaking from bottom of carb? could just try tapping on the bowls with a screwdriver handle also, sometimes they get stuck on freshly rebuilt carbs. If that don't fix it then for sure time to open the bowls and look, also you may open the bowls if it keeps happening as well.
