Love the cream color. Don't know about the yellow...have to see the whole thing but it has a nice stance to it. John

    cb450 parts

Do you have the engine? Any parts? It would help if you gave a general idea what you have. Cam followers, the 1mm spacer at the cam ends, the little piece the clutch cable attaches to at the engine, any of the clutch actuator parts? John

wiring new DCC switches to 1969 cb350

I hope you get it figured out and post the solution. I'm considering their switches myself. Do they seem like sturdy well made units? I like how they put this warning on the bottom: John

    CB450 simple color wiring diagram

I have been researching the wiring on my recent purchase and found this on the interwebs and thought I'd share it. I have cleaned it up, redid the text to make it readable, cleaned up the colors and checked it against the one in the manual. It seems to be accurate but at your own risk. It is...

Electrical 101 - Read This First

Yeah I've been lurking and devouring threads for about a year feeling really inadequate and when I finally bought this thing I joined up. Hope I can contribute something sooner or later and not just be asking for help. John

Electrical 101 - Read This First

As a recent purchaser of a basket case bike I wish I could understand all this well enough to ditch the old harness and wire the bike new. I cannot read the wiring diagram well enough to do it though. I get some of the circuits, the simple ones like lights. I can't figure out the charging...

1974 CB450 need replacement fork springs

I picked up a 74 CB450 today that the previous owner started on but lost interest. He wanted it low to the ground so he removed the springs from the forks and shocks. I want to raise it back up. Of course he didn't have the springs so I need to find some. Are there aftermarket springs that will...

    new cafe build cb450

Looking awesome MJ. I just picked up a 74 450 so I've read through your whole thread. One question: did the new cam chain fix the timing issue you had? Marks all line up when done? And where did you buy the chain? I rebuilt an XR650 several years ago and cheaped out on the chain thinking it...

    CB350F - Cam chain question

I just bought a 74 CB450 that has the top end apart and I want to replace the cam chain while it's open. Anybody know how many links long the chain is? 128? Any recommended vendors to buy from? One more question: I see K6 and K7 listed as 74's. Any way to identify which is which? Chain seems to...

The Poor Boy - A Tale Of A CB550- New Electrical

Re: The Poor Boy - A Tale Of A CB550- GOT THE TITLE BUDDY!!!! Wow what a thread! Read the whole thing over two days. Congrats on an excellent adventure. Bummer about the ring bits and I hope it turns out to be nothing. Never built a four cylinder but can imagine how difficult it would be...

In. Interesting take on this old bike thing. I do a lot of Adventuring on a KLR. Never considered an older smaller bike for it. Keep it coming. John
