I think I'm done as of today. I used an old license plate as a cradle and have it tied down currently with mini bungees. I'm gonna source a rubber strap to go around it to hold it more permanently.
I ended up scrapping the idea after I got it all rigged up. I didn't like the weight balancing of it. I mounted the battery lower on the swing arm. I still plan to use it as a saddle bag though. It will hang from the modded luggage rack
I'm doing a build that requires me to move the battery from the "triangle". I decided to attach an old ammo can as a saddle bag and place the battery in that. Do I need to drill some holes to vent the battery? Should I think of another solution?
It's a 1974 CL360 kickstart only.
What's also cool is after all this, there are no more leaks and I found fifth gear!

Check your oil for the presence of fuel. If the oil has gasoline in it then your float needles are malfunctioning or the floats are damaged.
If not, Pull off the pods and see if it starts with carb spray in the intake. If it idles for a second then you know that it's not getting any fuel and...
Got the part, greased it up and adjusted a couple of times and I was back on the road. Thanks to all who replied.

Still popping. Is it a possibility that the actuator that hold the bearing is bent and only worked while I had the bent push rod in? Would I need a new actuator?
After tightening the cable adjuster at the cover, it pops when I squeeze the lever and it never gets to a point where it engages the...
All done but now I'm stuck on adjusting the clutch. I get close and then POP! And I have to start all over again. Is there a trick that I'm missing?

So I removed the seal. Still no luck. Then I went around and removed the right side cover. Dropped about all the oil onto my driveway. I removed the clutch plate Etc and knocked the rod out from the other side.

Probably broken chain. Not sure. I bought it that way. An viscous oil leak alerted me and after reading a lot, I learned that it's not supposed to look that way.
Being a VW enthusiast I'm used to a little oil leaking. But proportionally it's too much.
I'll try removing the seal first and if...
Yeah so this thing is a bitch to get out. I've got vice grips on it and I'm pulling like a mother. Should I go through the other side? Like the clutch cover side?
