Cheers lads, yep she's a heavyweight alright, hopefully a middleweight once i've finished! Managed to squeeze a quick hour in last night. One knackered old compressor. Plus this sandblasting gun i picked up, see the nozzle at the front, you just stick a piece of pipe to that and jam it in a...

    Newbie CB750 Cafe Project

Im based in Bristol, UK. Had my bike for about a month now. Here is the thread. http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=38406.0;topicseen The only real issue i had with mine was the clutch slipping on high revs. Something you might/probably want to consider whilst the clutch is out is...

    Newbie CB750 Cafe Project

As a fellow DOHC'er I'm definitely following this! Fair play to you on the strip down dude...HARDCORE! I'm running into the same issue as you in that lots of the trick parts for these bikes are based in the USA and us Europeans get stung on postage. So far i have found these two site stock some...

    cx500 or cb750

Be open minded and go with your heart and wallet. I'm new to the cafe scene but have been riding bikes for 20years and I went for the DOHC over the SOHC because I think the engine looks way more bad ass than the SOHC. I love that people are turning slightly more modern affordable bikes today...

You know the tank decals, are they just standard vinyl cut? Did you clear coat the tank afterwards? Cheers Al

Hi Swapmeet, It's a plasma cutting disc, really slim. It was really, really fast like a knife through butter! I also used a flexible sanding disc after to smooth it all off including the lug removal, that was also very useful and recommended.

    Tiki Al's DOHC Cafe Project

Update: Screw all the technical engine issues I may stumble across its time for action! Engine out and de-greased, I've removed all electrical components too....apart from one ; ) so I can sand it back or blast it ready for paint. Question can you put the whole lump in for powder coat as is or...
