I actually made my wiring harness for my 1982 XJ750 from scratch. It took a lot of patience and was very tedious. My advice if you do decide to make it, is to slowly replace parts of your current harness with new pieces.

Really, unless you're doing anything special, you should be good with any router that offers wireless function. although nowadays I don't even think you can get a router that's not wireless...do you know what models he is pushing on you, or have you not been in yet? If not, don't worry too much...

That certainly is inexpensive. Not sure how it would look on most bikes though...
