As promised... Rolling chassis photos. I still have to weld on the outer swing arm plates. I wanted to set it up as a roller to fine tune the shock placement before committing to the location of the outer plates. As it sets, I was 0.75 of a degree off on my fork calculations. I can easily...

I've been stuck, waiting for the wheels and such. I want to double-triple check all of my suspension geometry with it sitting on rubber. I couldn't see mounting up the rubber, then later pulling it all apart again to ship out for powder. I wanted to save a step. Work schedule has been busy...

Transparent Copper...its a two part powder. Chrome powder first, then the tranny copper.

Very happy with these wheels... It's an odd color to photograph. In the sun they take on so much metallic flavor, they turn orange. In the shade, they appear more copper. Super sexy bitch-o neat-o.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB-/321523841029?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4adc507805&item=321523841029 I just listed my last Café build, a '72 CB350. Great entry level café, low reserve.

Yes, john...a piece of cake! LOL I did manage to get one outer-swingarm plate made yesterday, despite a killer headache for two days. Grrrr. The right side is nearly cut out and drilled, still needs final shaping. I also noticed that the right side of the swing arm around the pivot point is too...

THANKS!! You made me make a mad dash out to the garage to grab the petcock. LOL It barely clears. LOL the move backwards helped that issue slightly. I hadn't even picked up the petcock to check it. The crossover tube is very close to the rockerbox bolt, just like the left side.

Well, the tank is on... Wheeeew. Way deeper of a project than what I expected. The modern GSRX forks were WAY easier to bolt on!!! One would think that the same brand of tank, only a few years earlier, would be a breeze to adapt. NOPE. Different animals. How to do it: Narrow your CB frame at...

    Hondacati GSX-R CL350

I'm giving it one more shot in the garage today, to get the tank down into the frame where I need it. You guys have reinforced my persistence to make it work. The tank makes the bike!!! I've channeled the frame near the wish bone, and it needs another 1/8" per side, which is a pain in the ass...

These have left for powdercoating... Going with transparent copper. Apparently its a two-stage process... Chrome, then copper. Photo's when they arrive, of course.

I agree...about the boring part. It would have to be a spectacular example to be awesome. There is the issue of the bikes identity... Ive thought custom café tank/seat, but then nothing else is left 'Honda' to the Honda. LOL. (I really like the 160 tank) The tunnel on the 160 couldn't be pulled...

    Hondacati GSX-R CL350

Yeah, having some issues with the little 160 tank. I narrowed the frame at the wishbone to be able to slide the tank to the rear, width-wise its good... Again, as you stated the tunnel just isn't deep enough. I may have to go a different direction. It would barely cover the electrics. I love the...

    Hondacati GSX-R CL350

I also started narrowing the center frame member to accommodate the CB160 tank. I removed the rear tabs on the tank to clean up the back area and to make room for fitment, opting for underside mounts later. But, the frame is still too fat. I torched and carefully hammered in some clearance near...

    Hondacati GSX-R CL350

Top shock mount completed and installed... After checking and re-checking its position, I tacked it in place, then disassembled everything again for final welding. I did find that a piece of 1/2" round stock beat in perfectly on top of the plate to hold it securely in place. I filled the entire...

2008 cbr forks on 68 cl450 frame?! quick response please!!

A lot of geometry to consider, right XB33? LOL. We just went thru this on my GSXR fork swap. Rake and trail to be altered by fork length and nasty difference of fork tube offset in the triple tree. All can be remedied, but what looks to be an easy swap, could be costly to fine tune. Buy a new...
