    My Favorite CB550 Ever

I didn't know where else to post this. Occasionally Huze will post something worthwhile... http://cyrilhuzeblog.com/2016/01/11/cb550-styling/#more-152248

Drilling Speed Holes in Chain Guard

I know this thread is a little old, but I have a different take on how to do this. I use a bolt together hole cutter. it even works on curved surfaces. It can't slip and mar the finish either. In fact, if you need something similar done, let me know.

    Best/strongest Plastic adhesive?

Have you thought about "welding" it from the back side with a soldering iron?

You might try clubchopper. I remember a discussion there about them around a year ago.

    The Buy It Now CB750

I was watching that one myself, but it was too far away to seriously consider. Looks to be worth what you paid. Hope you have fun with it.

WTB cb750k compatiable tank with knee dents, sources as welcome as well.

As a 20 year old kid going through SFQC, my Commandant, Colonel Robert Howard, who also happened to be one of the greatest Special Forces soldiers who ever lived, had this warning for me: There will always be those around you who will attempt to make their own candles shine brighter by trying to...

    aluminium polish, first try

Or got to the local Harley shop on a Saturday and see some titties while my bike gets washed. I mean, IF that was my thing...

1971-ish CB750 with GSXR Front End and other bits

Re: 1971-ish CB750 with GSXR Front End and other bits I can't really afford That's a nice looking build. The CB500T tank has always been my favorite. It definitely enhances the appeal. You've got some pretty good fab skills for a poser. Rear sets look good too,

    aluminium polish, first try

I guess I'm one of those lazy guys who doesn't give a shit. My daily rider has no paint at all, including the frame, and I don't spend any time polishing it either. The aluminum on some of my other bikes stays good by simply maintaining it once in a great while, but for the bare metal bike I...

    cheap LED headlights, really?

Military pricing is the only kind they offer. Sure I could make one (I have the lathe ability) but that would defeat the purpose of the build - a bike made out of weapon parts I used on bad people, and that they used on me. Canyon-I'm glad you like it. I've posted build logs in the appropriate...

Removing handlebar mounts on top clamp

It looks good as is, but if you want to work it some more, don't worry about going too far. That's how we improve our skills. If you screw it up, you throw some weld on it, or buy another one and start over. I do understand your apprehension though. I remember the first time I took a cutting...

    Sporty Cafe Build

I'm thinking of doing something very similar, but instead of storage I'd like to fab up a simple oil tank between the rails. I may be able to get a small battery under the Honda tank, which is actually horseshoe shaped when viewed from the rear. In essence I want to skeletonize the whole frame...

I now own an ugly cb550.. help me improve the looks on a budget

My own personal preference is always to remove the fenders. Improving looks? You can improve looks and performance to a degree by drilling that rotor. For more looks, add speed holes to your sprocket cover and anything else that suits your fancy. Some prefer the "shotgun" effect. I prefer mine...

Removing handlebar mounts on top clamp

It's even more elegant than that. Machine the pockets with flats on either side. Mill flats on either side of the stanchion tubes. It ain't going anywhere. But I still have other ideas as well. This is the clean top yoke on the chopper I built. Obviously different techniques involved, but the...

Haddock's first Café build - CB550 - Done for now

Re: Haddock's first Café build - CB550 I've actually heard of it. We did a mission near Copenhagen in '84 with your Jaegers. However, I spent most of my time on the mainland. (did a four and half hour swim from the North Sea to get there) I liked Herning, Arhus, and a few other towns so much I...

What is the best Honda bike to buy, for a platform, rareness etc?

What the fuck are you dragging me this for, Dude? I'm offering some advice, and complimenting another poster on his rides. And I guarantee you're a different (read more polite) motherfucker in person. Do some research.

What is the best Honda bike to buy, for a platform, rareness etc?

As a matter of fact, I'm doing just that with a '99 Sportster right now. Even started a thread on it. Bradj, still curious which parts you'r talking about. If there's anyhting that might work on my builds, I might be interested. Sorry, but I'm really not interested in going back and finding...
