I just thought I'd update this thread!
For anyone else looking for an accelerator pump diaphragm kit for the 1982 Honda CM450A
Hondamatic.....
... it's the same as the 1980 Honda CM400A Hondamatic.
I happened to have a handful of 1980 CM400A parts when I took my newly-purchased 1982 CM450A...
I saw that kit and unfortunately it fits every model of CM450 EXCEPT the CM450A Hondamatic.
The Honda part numbers are different, which means there are physical differences to the pieces.
Hiya!
There's no aftermarket accelerator pump diaphragm rebuild kit (Honda part: 16021-MC1-004) in existence for a 1982 CM450A.
Has anyone replaced the diaphragm on one of these bikes?
What part did you use?
Did you have to modify it to get it to work?
I'm looking to recreate the side panel/cover decals that would have come with a 1982 Honda CM450A Hondamatic.
To do this, I need high-resolution, straight-on photos of an original.
Does anyone out there own this bike that has its original decals?
Can you take some photos of both the right...
Sooo... has anyone in this thread successfully replaced the vented cap ("fuel filler cap" on the parts fiche) on a 1980 CM400A/T with some aftermarket gizmo?
Is it possible to take the original apart to clean it out?
I don't think mine's venting correctly...because of the kind of cold starting...
