    CB350 Cables for Clubmans

Bringing it back from the dead. I have this exact same problem. '71 CB350 twin with clubman bars. I found Dime City's shortened throttle cable, but no one has a "ready out of the box" solution for the clutch and front brake. Are there cables from a different bike that can be used? Surely...

    1971 CB350 Twin Not Starting

I went through the carbs and synced as best I could before the first test. With that said, the right cylinder has given me problems since day one. Side note - I know you've had some brief talks with my buddy, Carlos (he's the one that shot the video above actually), about the electronic...

    1971 CB350 Twin Not Starting

Ha! This video was taken after I had woken up. We were in the garage until about 4 in the morning the night before. Suppose I was too excited to put on real clothes. I've adjusted the valves with the typical feeler gauge route. But that's the extent of valve work.

    Atlanta Area Machine Shops?

Skinny of the story... I check my compression on my '71 CB350's right cylinder, and it is about half of what it should be (low enough that it won't fire the cylinder even). I haven't taken the motor out just yet to assess the damage, so I'm not sure if it's the cylinder walls or the heads. But...

    1971 CB350 Twin Not Starting

Well since I put about a gallon and a half in when we started testing, I didn't think it was possible to burn enough gas to get below the "on" tube just by cranking and a little bit of idling. Dumped some more gas in the tank and it fired right up. ::) Now that it idles, it is only firing on...

What Ignition Coils is Everyone Running - CB350

For what it's worth, these coils do fit the factory bracket in terms of mounting holes. The spade connection does interfere with the mounting bracket. Even bending these leaves too tight of a space and you will be unable to put any type of insulated connector on there. We ended up having to...

    1971 CB350 Twin Not Starting

All right, my patience is wearing thin. I've had this bike for a few months and have been replacing things like rotary seals, coils, plugs, etc. Basically I brought the bike down to the frame and went through everything to make sure we had no leaks or anything. Well the bike is all back...

    '71 CB350 Twin Oil

Better question... What is everyone running that's easily found? I'm seeing people running diesel oil even (???)

    '71 CB350 Twin Oil

Good morning gents and ladies. I've been spending the last two days reassembling my '71 CB350 twin. I had it torn down to the frame to diagnose and replace seals, coils, blah blah. We'll I got it buttoned up last night to prepare for the first start in months only to realize I only had a quart...

What Ignition Coils is Everyone Running - CB350

Do you have any idea on the ohm rating on those coils, Sonreir? Kind of hard to beat at $14 a pop. http://www.amazon.com/IGNITION-YAMAHA-XT-600-XT600E-MOTORCYCLE/dp/B00IWRH4X4

What Ignition Coils is Everyone Running - CB350

Thanks for everyone's input! At this given point in time with the build, I'm compiling Excel sheets to find the drawn amps of the system. I'm finding this more difficult than it really should - hardly anyone provides the wattage or ohms for a headlight, tail light, coil...Aggravating! I'll...

What Ignition Coils is Everyone Running - CB350

Just like the title says, I'm curious what everyone is running for ignition coils. I tried searching around, but didn't really get a good collaboration of input to give me a "Yes, these are THE coils to run" answer. I'm in the process of rebuilding my entire bike ('71 CB350), and I cannot get...

CB350 Left Crankcase Cover Oil Leak

Unfortunately life has taken priority, and I haven't touched the bike in forever it seems. While this leak has been tearing at my heartstrings, it has me thinking that if the cover is warped (has to be, right?), what type of surface finishes are typically recommended for the machine shop given...

CB350 Left Crankcase Cover Oil Leak

The RTV was cured for 24 hours before any oil was entered into the system or the bike starting up. I'll be tearing it back apart tonight hopefully. Definitely getting tired of buying new oil, though >:( Side note, "C/S seal" is? Where is the breather hose? Again, I'm sitting here at work...

CB350 Left Crankcase Cover Oil Leak

Just to make sure we're on the same page, this is the entire left crankcase cover that is leaking, not the smaller one that has "Honda" printed on it. It is leaking from #1 on the image below, not #4.

CB350 Left Crankcase Cover Oil Leak

Surely there isn't enough oil in the crankcase cover for the bike to continuously leak for quite some time after the bike is turned off (meaning not flinging around oil as the internal bits are stationary) if the wiring grommet was the culprit? That seems to be too high up on the cover to leak...
