    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

    Hi guys, we've been sketching up some next steps. During the build I began to see the beauty of stainless steel. And decided to make some changes. Instead of going all black, we're going to combine red, black and stainless steel. Some details are in gold, like the front brake, some screws on the...

    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

    Hi, today I placed the engine to see how much the front forks would react. Also tried the original bend exhaust pipes and megaton dempers. I like the classic look with the pipes below. Although I'm thinking of custum pipes and gp-style dempers (vertical). This is the classic look 8)

    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

    I already posted a question on the engine part of this site. Maybe some who will read this project can help me with my carbs. I want to upgrade my Keihin (vacuum) carbs and bought (maybe to quick) some Mikuni VM30's. I read on different sites that the Mikuni VM30 was the best upgrade for a...

    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

    Thanks.. I didn't knew that! Most reactions on the original bike or when I started with the build were negative. Nice to hear something positive about the original CM400 :) I really like the way the original frame bents over the engine. Form behind it looks very small, and with two carbs and...

    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

    I love the electrics on the new CM450RR :P The computer controls all the lights (frequency, puls, alarm), handlebars push buttons (multiple options on one button) and more. We hide it in de back-end of the seat. For ignition we'll use a RFID. Also small pushbuttons. And very small...

    HONDA CM400 '81 -> 450 cafe racer (DUTCH)

    Thanks, I know, over here it's the same. Not I much liked bike at all. But even originally it didn't drive bad at all. Can you explain what you mean with torquey lump? Translation in Dutch doesn't come out well ;) You probably mean that it's a heavy small cc engine without much power.. ???

    Honda CM400/450 carb upgrade Keihin into Mikuni??

    I've got a Honda CM400 (project: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=68402.0). The flow of the head is optimized and we fitted a 450 cylinder. The original carbs (and intake) are 36 mm Keihin. The Mikuni VM30 and VM32 are used as a upgrade for the CM/CB 400 / 450 (i've got two...
