    '66 Suzuki X6 Cafe Project

So I couldn't figure out for the life of me why the taillight didn't work. After a few hours of fiddling and studying the wiring diagram and arguing it turns out that the light itself didn't have a good ground. I HATE it when its something little and obvious like that! Those things are usually...

Sorry I haven't been back for a while to post updates but we been on a serious roll with this project. Didn't really take the time to snap any pics the past week or so but this video should explain a lot. Start-up and walk-around Hope that worked. Still need to find out why the taillight...

Maybe - hopefully - they can work that out to 21 years per charge. Dunno how their system works though.

    '66 Suzuki X6 Cafe Project

Headlight bucket/gauge was an awkward shape so I painted it half ivory half black to break it up a bit. Trying to find a good height for it now as the stock (ugly) headlight ears were fixed in position and these new aluminum ones are adjustable. might go up a bit from the photo.

    '66 Suzuki X6 Cafe Project

This thread is the second half of a pair of builds. They started out together over on the restoration boards here: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=25808.0 Basically a father/son project of a near-identical pair of Suzukis (250cc/2stroke/6-speed). We've just finished the...

Yamaha SR250 Restoration - Built by a schoolboy

Re: Yamaha SR250 Restoration - 'What does this bit do?'... Wow that's definitely a project bike! As someone in a similar situation, I can honestly say that you will learn SO much with this bike. It's also important not to let it overwhelm you. Do one thing on it everyday after school/work even...

If anyone is EVER sealing their gas tank, I will only ever recommend POR-15! This is as trouble-free as KREEM was troublesome. A few afternoons, a few handfuls of nuts/bolts and a can of acetone later, the '66s tank was finally ready for a good coat of the stuff. If anyone's ever worked with...

    A pair of Suzuki X6's - 1 Resto, 1 Cafe

Went for a ride today and as i was going up a pretty steep hill, the '67 lost power and stalled out. Luckily I was able to pull off at a very scenic spot to snap a few pics and figure out what the hell went wrong. After about 20 mins of kicking and some help from a friendly harley guy, she was...

Report from the road! The '67 is inspected and I've been been riding all over terrorizing the local neighborhoods. The experience of riding a 45 year old bike as my first has been amazing. It feels very primitive and slow but that's a good thing given my history of speeding tickets. The...
