Cut it ⅔ up and made a bracket for the tail light and license plate.
Panted it and slapped a new seat

I did change all the engine cover bolts to Allen bolts. It looks better and easier to work with. The only danger with them is that people could over tighten them and damage the aluminum. If the threads on the engine are stripped, you could do a helicoil job since the torque required is not much...

You are nuts on. I just did that and when rotating one of the stanchions, the lower fork moved closer to the axle. I only rotated it 3-4mm and the fork was sitting perfectly on the axle.
So, I do have a bent fork but I can live it for now. The plan is to shorten the forks eventually...

I thought about it but the rotor goes only on the right side. I think I'm gonna have to take the forks out and make sure they are straight. What a pain in the arse.

After changing the oil in the forks, the fork ends sit wider than the wheel axle. The only way to clamp the axle onto the forks is by clamping one side and then force the other fork inward while clamping it. The difference is about 10mm.
Are the forks bent or am I installing the wheel wrong...
