    cm 450a tank on a cm250?

Would any of you guys happen to know if a cm 450a tank will fit on a cm250 c custom? I'm going to attempt to fix up a little cafe racer for my 10 year old grandson. I think I found a fairly clean 450 tank and the 250 tanks seem far and few between. BTW if the front mounts would work I can come...

    rectifier diodes

Thanks yeah the oem relay has a diode across the coil. I had a little Panasonic relay that would mostly just buzz. I made a adaptor for a external diode. I used a 1a 1000 volt diode instead of a 400 volt and it seemed to work fine. I think it's for spikes in the charging system. The bike has to...

    frame number referance

Thanks, that makes sense and the 82 has a chain drive. I think some of those had a belt drive but I'm not real certain. It has no seat or tank and the carb is missing. At least I can get the right gasket set if I pull it apart and try fixing it, I don't want to try turning it over if motor is...

    frame number referance

Someone gave me a little Honda and I think it is a CM250 from what I can tell. The frame number is MC062000885 from the best I can see. I've been looking on the internet without much luck. Any ideas on how to read the numbers? Thanks

    rectifier diodes

Thanks, Its to try and diode the coil for a relay. The oem relay has the diode built in. It looks like it goes to the hi beam switch. It's on a 81 xj 550. It also goes through a diode block from the alternator.

    rectifier diodes

Is a rectifier diode pretty much a standard diode? I found some for cheap and was thinking about using one along with a headlight relay. They are 1n4004 1A btw.

    rearset sweet spot?

Yeah I've been using a screwdriver to pry the lever apart. Here's some pics and I going to either build a booth or have it professionally painted. I'll send some pics when that's done. I have another tail for it and working on another one. It doesn't shift great even with the original shifter...

    rearset sweet spot?

Got these top of the line rearsets on my 83 Yamaha xs650 I've been playing with the adjustments trying to find the sweet spot. The bike is not easily shifted and it might be a internal problem but I don't think it is. either way I'd like the best set up I can get. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Clip-Ons and front end stiffness?

Have you checked your preload/sag it should be about 30-35 mm for the street. Depending on how you like it. I'm used to working on forks with a spacer that can cut off. It would be interesting to see how the inside of your forks are laid out

    Ways to wire GPS

I was looking for ways to wire up for a GPS. It would be nice if I could use one of the wires from the speedo lights I'm not going to be needing. It would be nice to avoid the cigarette lighter thing but I don't know if that's possible. Being that it reduces the voltage.

    Cleaning metal with acid

This stuff removes the galvanized coating too, so I usually rinse with water, dry and coat with something.
