So it has been a little while.. (to say the least!) but I have finally found the drive to finish this bike! Got my degree done and dusted and finally have the time/money to really give this thing a good shot. I got stuck on the seat (and the awful frame) but I have a metal fabricator mate who...
those results are awesome pete! im pretty sure its the same process - getting the bits done on saturday. Your bike is looking amazing by the way - nice progress!! love those pipes - im pretty keen to get some cl350 ones (kind of like yours).
Assembled the headstock last night - bottom bearing...
yep i am still thinking about going with the pod filters. not sure about jetting - i need to get the tank finished - the engine hydrablasted and a few other things first.
anyone here tried hydrablasting? I spoke to some guy at the swap meet about it and it sounds pretty good - for $120 or so he...
just noticed the deus thread. whilst i completely agree their bikes are way overpriced you guys should check out the deus bali shop. pretty cool stuff going on there. and while i have bought a few deus clothes (only when they're on special!) I think what they're trying to do with all the events...
Re: my CB200T build
hi - love the bike - I am smitten with those cl pipes. - I'm working on a cb400n (fairly similar to the 200/400t) and I'm keen to give those pipes a shot!
Re: So you bought a CM400 / CB400T, now what...(46+ Build Links!)
hi guys - great to see so much interest in the 400t/n 's.
Slowly getting stuff done on mine but im a bit stuck for parts. would anyone know where I could get an intake manifold for the 1982 cb400n? im also looking out for some...
turns out the taper bearings did fit after all - rubber seal at the bottom of the shaft just had to be removed.
would anyone know where to get hold of an intake manifold for the bike? I'm guessing the 250n/t and 400t ones would be interchangeable with it.
ordering the gauges from dime city...
hi guys I've been pretty busy with exams and assignments/moving house so not much has happened to the bike. tried to head stock bearings and just my luck they don't fit. So I have to get them replaced which will take some time. To make up for not working on my bike I went to a classic motorcycle...
hey - thought id throw in my 2 cents.
been playing for ages now - gone through a fair few instruments. I bought this shecter blackjack fr the other week - it shreds! love the thicker neck on them - cant stand ibanez or jackson - feels like im holding a ukulele or something.
Im really...
pretty much what i did - apart from i hacked the seat pan apart first - then cut up the foam. ill do some work on it soon and get some pics (got a massive assignment due... very inconvenient for bike related stuff!)
awesome! i was thinking of getting mine through a roadworthy first but it was...
hi Deano
looks good - got any plans for it? keeping the original seat pan?
My plan is to keep the original seat pan (or at least the bit that clips on so i can remove it without tools) then weld on a bracket to make the bit that clips in under the tank longer (as the new tank is shorter). I've...
I know pretty much nothing about speedo drives and the like and like you from cheking out what other people have to say I've come to the conclusion the my bike (1982 CB400N) has a speedo ratio of 2240:60. The speedos on the dime city cycle page generally run at 2400:60 but I was told that this...
thanks for that peteGS - just ordered them - as a steering kit. $47.50 - not too bad and i really need to get them to get on with getting a rolling chassis going. not sure if i need wheel bearings, and the swingarm bushes seem fine. Found these shocks. fourth down the page - seem pretty cheap...
Anyone have any ideas where I could get some taper bearings for my headstock? preferably in Australia? I'm going to get those gum grips from Deus - expensive but I love em!
sure thing. I don't. I just want a good looking bike.
that's the plan. amazing the things one can get away with when you play dumb. I'm keeping the original bars to get it through - ill just change them afterwards. QLD regs are pretty stringent.
Hi Dan74u - sounds like what happened to me when i got mine (also on ebay)!
For me its a few things that lets the old Superdream down in the "cafe" department. The engine is really wide, its also a stressed member (part of the frame structurally) and this goes against the traditional look for...
by SCU do you mean southern cross uni? I go to griffith uni on the Gold Coast - pretty sweet. waves are 5 mins away from uni... temptation is often too much.
