anyone here ever own a goldwing?

I'm a pretty huge supporter of all of those things. I feel like the flight firm might make the total price more than buying one up here. I am due for a vacation though...

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

OK, so my next question is who wants to put up a stranger from the internet so I can come to your town and buy motorcycles? ;D

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

I'd love to do something like that. Is it actually pretty straight forward?

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

Yeah, you're both right. Damn. I might still go look at it, but I'm going to be a lot more skeptical. Thanks fellas.

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

Awesome, thanks for the advice, man. I'm really bad at getting all excited about bikes. The guy claims it starts up, so I want to see if that's true, but looking closely at the pics, even, as well as the rust, there's a ton of leaf litter and shit in the crevices of the engine, so I'm guessing...

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

Tune-a: Yeah, I think the goldwing might be too much bike for my limited space and insurance budget, but my goal is buy a bike up in sudbury as they seem to dowble in price in toronto which is annoying and I'm up there for work anyway. And cxman: Yeah, the bike is pretty beat up. I talked the...

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

This is the bike I'm looking at now: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-street-cruisers-choppers/sudbury/1976-cb-550-honda/1074759886 It's pretty beat up looking, but I figure it's at least worth checking out. I sold the little xs400 the other day as it just wasn't quite enough bike for higway drving, but...

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

Yeah, all that kind of occurred to me. I think all in all, as I'm limited in space and friends who want to help me do something like that, I might pass on it. It's too bad, I love the look of the naked goldwings, but I think it might just be too much bike for me right now. Thanks for the advice...

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

Awesome, thanks for the tips! I just called my insurance place and they told me my insurance will double if I pick up the goldie, so I might not go for it, I'm eyeing a 76 cb550 as well, that's in pretty rough shape, but if I could get it running enough to drive the four hours back from where...

Not anything cafe, but I'm thinking of buying an old goldwing...

That's a purty bike. The one I'm looking at is a far cry from that though. If I pick it up, it'll be the heaviest bike I've ever owned by about 100 lbs. I'm worried it'll handle like a fucking brick. I can get this one, that looks in pretty good shape for $750, which I'm thinking is a pretty...

anyone here ever own a goldwing?

I'm thinking of buying a '78 for a what I think is good price, and either stripping it down, or flipping it for a bit of profit. I've never had a shaft drive bike though, and don't know much about them. Anyone have any thoughts?

Not anything cafe, but I'm thinking of buying an old goldwing...

...a '78, all tarted up with the farings and all the trimming, that i'd take off right away, unless I wanted to sell it. But I've never had anything to do with a shaft drive before and it gives me pause, has anyone ever had any dealings with one? Thoughts? Comments? Derisive criticism? The fella...

Racing with the clutch in/in neutral or stalling.

I'll check, I don't think the 80's do, I thought that was post 1980 for the xs400s, but I'm sure I can find that out. I also put super fancy gas from the Esso (canada) that claims to have more/better detergents in it, and this eve, when I was taking it out for another attempt at a diagnostic...

Racing with the clutch in/in neutral or stalling.

Re: Racing with the cluth in/in neutral or stalling. I should add that the minute I'm up to highway speed, or as close to it as this little POS will allow, it's all fine, and I've done a few longish (300-700km) rides and had no problems.

Racing with the clutch in/in neutral or stalling.

Hey guys, I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what's going on with my liitle bike, it's a 1980 xs 400 and here's what's happening: when I'm idling at a light, it either wants to dive and stall, or, if I give it some gas to keep the revs up, if I give it too much, (idling at about 3500rpm)...

Harley Davidson, waving, and "the nod line"

I hate the wave, I always have, the whole thing just seems silly to me. I also hate that I do it out of politeness and then get annoyed when I'm snubbed by another rider. I tend not to do it in Toronto, as it seems like everyone who rides here has their head up their ass, but I will return it...

    Fuck the 400s

So, I wound up taking the 2 most of the way, which was actually pretty nice once you get out past Oshawa. I learned to embrace the 401 and hate the DVP. Next time I'm going to try the 9 for sure though.

    Throttle question.

it's a free floating weight, guys. It's cool, I figured it out.

    Throttle question.

Hey guys, I have a 1980 yamaha xs400 and went to put drag bars on it today. Inside the throttle side of the stock bars was a metal rod. Does anyone know what's up with that? I am going to need to reroute the throttle cable as well as the bike was racing as soon as I started it up, but I'm...
