ok that's what I figured. I don't want to have to do major fabs to get them to work on my bike. I don't mind the comstars look though!! I know I can get new rims from Dime City so I should just replace that way
thanks for the info
hopefully these will fit my bike. I don't have all the knowledge on switching out parts so that's why I am asking!!
the rims on my 1977 CB550K have gone to crap and I have found a set from a 1981 CB900. Before I buy them I thought I would do some checking around and here is the best place to do...
I was told when I put new tires on my bike that the rims are pretty bad and if I started popping the tubes in them that I would have to get them refinished or try and replace them. sadly I have popped the tube again!!!
anyone know where I could get this work done in Toronto? or if I wanted to...

I agree....you have done a very nice job on the bike..... but you would be lucky to get half of your asking price. If you get your full asking price then let me know because then I will put my 77' CB550 up for $15,000!!
I didn't mess with the pilot screw at all.......and the old stock jets looked like they were about to fall apart! if you say that some of the new jets that claim to be the same size are not really the same size as the originals then maybe/hopefully that is the problem.......
thanks for all the...
Hey hopefully someone can help :o
So recently I have replaced/done to my bike - 1977 Honda CB550K:
> Sparkplugs
> Cleaned carbs and replaced old jets with new ones (stock size)
> Oil change
> Put a fuel filter on the line
> New battery
The bike was running fine last year and now it is back...
Question....was thinking of just putting the air box back on. If I left the 105 jets in place and put the air box back on would I run into any problems? Or would I have to put the 90 jets back in?
ok so how would I figure out if it is a single skin or not? also I have never seen the pipes glow like that (or even glow red!) even after a 2/3 hour long ride. No I am not running open pipes...they are loud but I don't believe they are open pipes!
thanks for the info on the pilots, drop...
shyte....yes like a glowing red. the pipes on the bike are 4 into 1 ......hmmm...how would you fix a vacuum leak if that is part of the prb? and if the pilot jets are to small, what size would you recommend to change them?
thanks
hi all....hopefully someone can give me an idea on how to fix this problem:
So I cleaned my carbs (on my 77' cb550k) and decided since I had the jets and pods I would put them into play as well! SO here is what happened.... I cleaned the carbs and when putting it everything back together I...
cool...thanks for all the info guys.....haven't got around to looking at it yet or might not even have time to f*$k with it.....might drag it over to a shop....haven't decided yet !
seeing if anyone can help me out and tell me what might possibly be wrong. I went to fire up my 77' CB550 the other day and had gas come ripping out of one of the carburetor overflow dubes....I turned the bike off and the gas, then without the bike running I turned on the gas and gas came...
Hey Rob....
