Maybe test ride the xr650l or DR650. I think you will find that the 400 won't be able to hang on the highway as well as you are gonna want. The highways out there in CA are fast!

Yeah the wheels are 17" front and 16" rear. The Hayabusa conversion wasnt that hard. You just need to perss out the stock Stem from the KZ triples and replace the stem from the Hayabusa triples with it. I Don't have a big enough press in my garage...
