I got the seat/tail from a guy selling them at the Barber Vintage Festival. I don't remember his info. There is; however, a guy called Monkey (Matt Tanner) at caferacer.net who makes one basically identical and are supposed to be about the best out there.
Got the carbs from Todd Hennings...
update on bike. this is mocked up, should be anchored down soon.
Also, green tank is for sale. It's on ebay, but i don't mind selling it to someone on the board and closing the ebay sale. let me know... blklexus74@yahoo.com
I have a old cb350f tank on my cb350k. I want to extend it at the front where the seat is by 1 to 3 inches to give it that longer cafe look. I figure I'll use foam to shape what i want it to look like then coat it with either fiberglass, bondo, bondo-hair, etc...
What would you recomend I...
I've been asking many questions lately. Thanks for all the replies.
I'm tuning my carbs and I think i'm getting closer. They are Mikuni vm30's on a cb350-stock. I went from a 175 main jet to a 130 and it seems to run better wide open. it really seems to run really good in the middle too...
I double checked the cables seating and re did the idle and now it seems negligible. And better up top. i might try to adjust the needle slightly, but seems pretty good now.
I've read that on the Mikuni the main jet only controls 3/4 to full throttle.
If this is true, how come now that I put a 130 main-from a 175- does the bike not run as well accelerating from idle???
Was perfect there before... stock cb350 with Mikuni vm30.

1972 cb350. I took the bike for it's first interstate run. Seemed pretty well. Had it a little over 80.
Anyways, when not in motion you can see that the left exhaust has a light colored smoke come out at idle...
No sync tubes. My bike seems to run really good now. Think it was just the timing and points. I'm running 175 Mikuni main jets. Stock motor-so you'd need larger.
Couple of pics of it as it now sits. Cosmetically, it will stay like this for several months til winter. That's when it comes apart and everything gets powdercoated, painted, different tank and seat/tail.
