extending tank length

I have a old cb350f tank on my cb350k. I want to extend it at the front where the seat is by 1 to 3 inches to give it that longer cafe look. I figure I'll use foam to shape what i want it to look like then coat it with either fiberglass, bondo, bondo-hair, etc...

What would you recomend I use, is bondo hair strong enough???

any other ideas?

Some people actually use a 2nd tank to stretch the stock tank. This is DME's CB750 with a stretched stock tank. Two tanks blended together. The extension is actually empty - the main fuel tank is left intact, with the top shell of the rear 1/3 or so of another tank welded on.
