I think each of your speedo functions has it's own earth, hence two wires - easy to check with a battery. If so just wire up your indicators as per the schematic and connect one wire to the incoming diodes/hot wire and the other to earth. Are you rewiring or patching into a stock harness?

Don't know if this is what you are trying to do but this is how diodes were wired into the indicators on my mini guage. Diode stops the power flowing back from the gauge to the indicators.
