Are you going to cafe them? If you don't mind my asking did you get a good deal on the iron heads? Seems like around here the newer bikes can be had for less. I figure I can get a good 1200 for $3500 with low miles. But it also seems the majority are the custom models which I want to avoid.
Curious if anyone has done one or is in the process. I have been thinking on one for a few reasons...they can be had cheap(ish), there is a million engine components parts and upgrades, there are a ton to choose from on the used market, and I think they are pretty good bikes.

I have a used fiberglass seat that has 1/16" holes from snaps for a pad.
Is there an easy way to fill these. I am lazy.
Actually I am concerned that what I do may screw up the smooth appearance of the seat.
Any help is appreciated.
The right tool sure helps.
This also demonstrates how linear the human mind can be. I build log homes for a living and I used to use impact wrenches to dive lag screws. I have literally thousands of hours using impacts, and yet it never occured to me to use one in this application.

So I have a '72 CL350 that I am turning into a cafe. I took the headlight ears off and found that the tubes were badly pitted. No problem I also have a '73 for a future project and those tubes are in good shape, I was gonna replace the seals anyway so I will just swap them out.
Or will I...

C'mon guys, all I am really asking is if handling would suffer with the 19" vs the 18". Anybody have any experience.
And I have to throw a little more into the mix. I intend to slide the forks up 1" and get lower shocks for the back. Would this shorten the trail back up and improve handling?
I...

These pegs are ready for a CL350? Do I need to adapt the passenger peg mounts or bolt them straight on?
I just got the tins back today for my 68 triumph. I had them done by Brent at the Vintage Vendor http://www.vintage-vendor.com/index.html in Vermont.
They were put back to original and they look fabulous. I will be sending my next project to him as soon as I can. His turn around was great and...
I have two CL350s One has a disc cb forks. One has the original Cl forks.
The CL wheels are in good shape but are drum. The CB looks like crap but is disk. I wouls need to relace the cb hubs into new wheels to use them.
Now I have read that the disc is not much better than the drum. But what...
Thinking on my first build, maybe a '78 CB550 if the guy calls back. I've got ideas about the bike, first and foremost I want it to run well and be safe as it will likely be my wife's. But eventually I will want to change the tank and seat, and therein lies the question.
Please tell me of the...
