I walked through the cycle salvage a couple of months ago and spotted what i thought was a KZ750 sitting out back... so a few days ago I sent Dennis down to get it -- Turns out it's a KZ1000 so I'll probably just give it brakes, fluids and a chain and sell it to someone who wants to do the...
This is more of a "During" - I just got her back up and running today.. I figure what better way to make a bike meet the "racer" criteria than to bring a real race bike to street legal.....

How about an $800 1973 SL350?... Had it running the first day and almost done now (less than a week) - beats paying the 3700 dolla book value for a boring museum piece -- I still haven't decided if I'm keeping it or finding one that was ordered with the steering stabilizer though (fork tree on...
Every time I get the itch for a modern bike I end out spending wayyy more than it's worth CBR1300 engine stuffed in a CBR1000 frame and made to appear relatively stock

Tell ya what... You find someone willing to put in the time to edit all the pieces together -- I got about 15,000 hours of stuff that hasn't made my youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/dawino6260 ) or PBS .. Send someone by to do the editing
What you are asking for is not hard - just incredibly...
My latest - I got the Sankei exhaust for this one off ebay for 25 bucks + 11 shipping - Seat was 15 off of Craigslist for 50 bucks -- Lets seeee....... It only took me 20 years to get around to looking for the parts for her - Had her together in a week once I started looking around...
I waited till after it sold so no-one can say I'm trying to sell it -- I bought this bike with a BUNCH of aftermarket chrome on it which went onto one of mine - Popped all my boring stock stuff on this one and sold it for what I paid to begin with - Former owner thought it needed an ignition box...
So I picked up an old Honda Rebel and decided to play at making a sand road bike to plink around on... But that teeny tank they come with just wasn't enough... So I rednecked on a 3+ gallon Hardley Abelson tank First video shows the finished bike - second shows how to redneck it on quick so you...
All I can say is:... That's gonna make my 73 GT750 worth more quick if Audi really buys em... But based on the fact that it was Porsche (also part of Audi along with Volkswagen) who designed the Hardley Abelson Evo's and that P.O.S. V-ROD engine in my collection... Yeah ... Audi sticking their...
One that I just finished -after letting it sit a couple of years- Not a cafe - but hopefully since this is a tank thread ya'all wont mind ....... Now go home and practice this (LOL)

The petcock you need can be found on 1980 CB900C as well as many other 77-81 Hondas (I didn't mention 82 because after that there are a lot of Hondas with vacuum petcocks) -- Also but from 82 the CB900F Supersport used that one -- really common and honda only had one thread diameter/pitch for...
I did one as a bobber -- did the GS450 ESX as a straight E -- one of the automatics as a museum piece (the automatic didn't make it to my youtube) The rest as runners.... I kept one for a flat tracker but I haven't gotten back to it yet due to I have to make a living too -- plus I feel like...
Now that's a SWEET looking Valkyrie.....
Blake -- I'm already making wire mesh tail pieces -- I'm going to go with a 50's style Camelback tail -- makeing a few out of chicken wire until I find the shape i like - then I'll hammer it out of aluminum.... I think it's going to end out more freight...
Well... this is what I've got to work with.... I'm thinking the back fender is the first thing to go..... Wonder will a camelback off one of my old GSXR track day plastics fit it........

I couldn't resist today... I was picking up the 79 GS750 to try my cafe project again with a more suitable bike (this one needs a tank anyway so I'm going to put my clip-ons on first and pick a tank AFTERwards this time)
Well.. There it was...sitting in one of the bays... neglected...left...
Forgot in the last one -- we have the stockers that take slip ons --
Also Dennis mentioned that Honda CB500 headers are a direct bolt on but you have to lose your centerstand and double up on your crush gaskets at the head (a Yami TX500 also used the same headers - things were pretty universal...
Give dennis a call -- we have a couple of sets around (stock pipes from GS450's) he'd probably let you have for 10 or 20 bucks plus shipping -- they bolt right on -- I have both types of tail mounts too (Dennis' number is 941-408-8418) You'd be patching the crossover tube and polishing but we...
