I've got pretty much the same bike, but I've fitted the 5 speed gears set out if a cb175. The Keihin on mine was shot ( top cap stripped and slide tube worn) so its currently waiting on a VM24 Mikuni to make its way from the US. I had the internal throttle fitted to drag bars, but could never...
No interference as its designed to be wired to coil - terminal ( just like a tachometer). The ones I use ( can't recall the brand I just buy em as I need em) can also simply have the pickup wire wrapped around a HT lead and still operate perfectly.
I've been following this & just wanted to chime in to say what an awesome looking machine you're building. The pic of the tree on that car is just awful though. What cars did you lose?
I'd use a tacho switching relay , as used in LPG systems on cars that arms/ disarms when a tacho signal (at coil -) is sensed or lost. That way no glow at idle which happens with most charge indicator lamps on bikes.
CD175 (Ihave one) uses a single intake port head that splits inside the casting. Also no manifold to speak of, just a short (5-6mm) spacer. I'm sure I saw a single carb conversion on a Kawasaki? on here. The manifold was a Y with the leg turned 90 deg and the carb side on like a v twin.
Re: JANUARY 2010 DO THE TON BIKE OF THE MONTH - NOMINATIONS!
I second Lachbeth1125's KH100, really clean and simple with nice details as pointed out by Boingk
2 different guys at 2 different shops said that all Gaggias had brass boilers and plumbing, hence the price premium over the otherwise equivalent Saeco models, which were stainless. The whole and sole reason for an auto machine is that I am LAZY, have a Chronic caffeine addiction and hate...
Lusted after an auto machine for years, then when my wife wanted to get pregnant with our second she asked me to stop drinking coffee cause one of her friends said it made the old swimmers lazy (prob bullshit but stick with me here). The upshot was I agreed as long as I could drop some coin on...
