Re: 1976 KZ400D - First Build (Picture Heavy) - Updated after 2 years
Figured those who looked originally were owed a "where are they now" update. Ended up finishing the bike at the end of 2017, long journey to say the least. Now up for sale unfortunately, but ill always have the photos and...
Hi all,
Looking to find those last few pieces to finish up my CL160 restoration. Bike was in dire straights before I picked it up, managed to track down most of the big bits but these remain outstanding:
Exhaust Joint (collar) + Shims (CB160 do not work, has to be the CL160 specific ones)...
I've managed to track down everything on my laundry list of parts except for the exhaust collars/shims. Stupidly purchased a NOS set of cb160 exhaust collars that have shims built in but won't slip over flanged ends of the scrambler headers. I'm happy to trade the cb160 exhaust collars or simply...
Tried to google first but couldn't find out. I vaguely remember reading that only 1 side cover from cb160 fits on cl160. If you could let me know I'd appreciate it!
Forgive my lack of vintage Honda knowledge lol. I was beyond happy to find this tank on kijiji for my cl160 project until I realized that although it looks the same, it is 90% the size with a narrower tunnel and different petcock than my other cl160 tank (middle picture) If you can identify it I...
I managed to get quite a few pieces from nic059 on caferacer.net. Great guy, and much appreciated. I've updated original post to show what's still remaining
Looking very nice. I've been looking into the cost of pistons and such for my own bike and can attest to the fact that this will end up being a great deal for someone.. Someone much closer to Illinois than I.
Yes, I want to return to the stock foot controls. This looks a little too homebuilt for my liking.
Also, RE: Carnivorous, I would be very interested in the foot controls but maybe its best if we wait to see if the parts bike situation works out to avoid separate shipping?
Thanks
That's my bad, I hadn't checked the frame enough, just knew that he removed everything from the frame triangle. I will take battery tray off the list.
Yes, the best thing going for the bike at the moment are the scrambler high pipes with shield.
Hi all, Friend recently gave me a CL160 that he botched the restoration on. Looking for a number of parts in order to turn it back to stock. If you have any of these parts, or leads to find them, I would be most appreciative.
Front foot peg/under chassis bar
Steering dampener assembly
Exhaust...
So far the viet rearsets have held up quite well, however the set I bought came powdercoated black which I was not informed would be the case (big deal, I let it slide) but they aren't even fully powdercoated black (toe pegs are still chrome and look dumb). I followed up with Viet to ask about...
