Multimeter is going crazy (strange readings)

Hey there DTT! I'm not too good with bikes yet and have been working on my first bike for about a year now, but hopefully getting better. I've finished everything on my 74 CB200 accept an electrical problem I've run into. The bike dies after riding less than 20miles. The spark cuts off and...

License Plate Guitar, Table & other Randoms

Re: License Plate Table & other Randoms When I saw the bird houses I thought you were making a cowl for you seat out of license plate. That'd be cool on some kinda ratrod bike.

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

I took the stoke seat, removed the stock cover, cut down the foam a few inched then put my own cover back over it. The cover was super easy. Not even 2 hours of work. Got the vinyl and upholstery thread from Joann Fabrics for about $16 and had a %50 off coupon so only cost me about $8. My...

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

Hey man! Yeah it's funny you see my thread because I was looking through your build last night! I like that you went with the CL exhaust and I also liked you're rear-set lay out.

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

Ok, now we're up to current day. New: Redid the pinstriping around the wood grain on the tank. Recessed the speedo. New brake shoes for the rear drum. Only problems now are: Still need to get a mirror, inspection and new regulator diode. As well as I'm sure I can still clean some more haha...

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

Some more cleaning, some on frame painting, made a new seat cover, got it running on both cylinders(turned out one of my replacement spark plugs must have been drop or something), pipe wrap and put a oak wood grain overlay on the tank. If you knew me you'd know that I'm a sucker for wood grain...

About a month later. New stuff: Clubmans, grips, kreemed the tank, new tires, new front brake line and caliper. New pot air filters, float bowl overflow lines, headlight ears, drive sprocket cover and carb tops/throttle cable. Got a 4 cell ballistic lithium ion EVO 2 battery to replace the...

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

At my buddy's shop a month later. Removed: Air boxes, turn signals and mufflers (muffs are only temporarily). Adjusting timing, new sparts, checked electrical, changed the oil; you know, that kinda stuff. Lots of cleaning done. Lots more to go.

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

This is just after I got it home. Had to loosen the bars to fit it under the camper top so it looks a little goofy. Haha it looked so funny. Falling apart. Missing the carb tops, drive gear cover, tool set and a few other things. But mostly all there. It hadn't been inspected sense 1986 and...

    1974 CB200 build (late) update

Hey guys! This CB200 is my first bike, first time working on a bike and much more. Pulled it out of a southwest VA barn for $300 back in May of 2012. Not running but it turned over and it was close to where I live. I joined this forum a few months into my build so I didn't really take many...

74 Honda CB200/Runing on only one cylinder.

UPDATE! Turns out the answer was simply a spark plug on the bad side. Every time I'd taken the sparks out I'd put them back in the same sides. It would sputter at high revs because it was getting more charge, enough to skip the divide. I think it was dropped at some point, maybe whiling it was...

I'm having the same problem with my 200! Did you ever figure it out?

74 Honda CB200/Runing on only one cylinder.

Well, I've had a combo of wet and dry to a point of which I can't remember. I believe when I swopped the carbs the rightside(firing side) was firing but somehow still wet. But I believe when carbs are in there normal sides, they're both dry. I think. It's like 12:15am here otherwise I'd run out...

I checked the coil today by swopping the wires to the opposite cylinders and it's still only firing the same single cylinder.

74 Honda CB200/Runing on only one cylinder.

I made a video that covers most of you're questions. http://youtu.be/QtOlcI8zHPE Carbs: Cleaned, disassembled, cleaned again, soaked for two days in carb cleaner, reassembled. That's plenty of fuel getting into the cylinder. Exhaust: I have the mufflers on now but I've had them off with...
