Just call it a custom. This bike is too cool to worry about conforming to labels. It smokes in guy's restroom and then skips class to NOT go home early.

I really like the lines on this bike. When you repaint the tank/tail, are you going to fill where the tank emblems used to be?

    Revival of an enduro veteran

Ah the venerable XL250 - my bike's older cousin. Sign me up. I'm excited to watch the progress.

When posted like this, the mono shock conversion and front end swap seem so easy! If only that were the case...

I really like the paint combination. One question: are those shocks long enough? From the pics, it looks like the tire will hit the frame/fender with the weight of a rider, let alone hitting a bump. I could be wrong. I just don't want someone to get hurt for the sake of a "look"

Sounds like I just need to learn how to use my multimeter and isolate the problem parts. Easier said than done though :).

Good point I didn't think about replacing the wire and cap. Aside from the length of the wire, does anything else vary from bike to bike or are they pretty much universal?

I've been dealing with electrical issues lately. No spark. I replaced the plug and swapped out the coil. Also cleaned up and gapped the points but still nothing. Anyone got some advice for chasing down electrical gremlins? All lights and signals work, but no spark.

1975 Honda xl350 brat? tracker? project so far

I thought about that as well but my bike is 100% complete and really in good shape so I'm hesitant to make any permanent changes to it. Since my dad is the original owner, I'd kind of like to keep it stock and restore it to keep in the family if I ever have kids or to give to my nephews down...

Awesome thanks for the info! I haven't decided yet if I'm going to restore mine or customize as you have.
