    Another Johnny come lately, CB350

Funny thing is that last night (after getting that "F" tank on there) I was wishing I still had the Duc seat to see how it looked. I bet it would work better with this tank. Unless something comes up that has me changing my mind, I'll be making my own seat as well. Either a traditional English...

    Another Johnny come lately, CB350

Yeah, about that seat... I thought it looked a bit large on the frame, especially compared to the tank. Plus I also got the notion to go for more of a '60's vs '70's look. And most of all, I needed some money, and thought I'd never pick this project back up. So I sold the seat. Of course I have...

    My CB360 barn find

I think the journey is just as important as the destination. Take the Kudos, you deserve it.

With photos like you have, you are speaking volumes enough. BTW, I'm for paint option 4.

    1967 Honda CB160 Race bike - $1500 (Seattle)

A STOCK CB160 (I've owned one) would make a fine daily for urban use. And even though the top speed is only somewhere around 80, it will run flat out for days. Or at least 15 miles, as I once tested.

    My CB360 barn find

I love your bike, and the progress. I'm new to the forum, but just read the saga in it's entirety. You're giving me some much needed motivation. Will be following.

Nice build, and I like the color. Thread bookmarked.

    Welding

Welding isn't something that seems easy to learn from a video. But I did improve my MIG skills quite a bit by watching good videos on YouTube. It's good when the teacher demonstrates the wrong way, and you can take note of the different sounds of a good and bad bead. Plus good camera work puts...

    BB, a CB450 build

That's the stuff - boy is my mind shot. Scary that I worked in a bike shop for 7 years.

    BB, a CB450 build

Killer bike, and your engine looks fantastic. Stainless will seize in aluminum without threadlock, or something else to protect it, though. There is a funky reaction between the two metals.

Well said. I won't say I'm good, but I've come a long way. Don't get discouraged if your results are lousy on the first few attempts.

    Welding

$700 should buy you a small, 110v setup that will last you for life. I paid about $800 20 years ago for an SP100 Lincoln with a Lincoln cart, and I bought (not leased) an 80lb tank. And this was from a dealer, because HD doesn't sell the good stuff. It's never failed, and I've loaned it out to...

    I sell sketches and prints

Yeah, serious skill, and a style that appeals to me. I don't know if soliciting work was the intention of this thread, but if it's within the site terms of service (yeah, I sped through that when I signed up), what does work like that cost? Feel free to PM me if it's not appropriate for this thread.

    CB 125 Resto - Bluey

I don't blame you. And I'm thinking I know exactly what you mean by "within reason." Not pay your eye teeth for some NOS part worth more than the bike when something similar will do, but not change out correct parts for others. When it comes to original bikes in good condition, I concur. My old...

    CB 125 Resto - Bluey

Great looking bike! I'd be tempted to swap out a shorter set of bars (say 2" rise) and ride it just like that.

    Another Johnny come lately, CB350

Thanks for the welcome. I don't know what it was years back with me and photos. I had a digital camera during this period, and would archive my images to disk. But all I have of the 350 is a few prints I made. Two of the bike as acquired, and one mock up shot, which is the photo in my avatar...

    Another Johnny come lately, CB350

Well not exactly. I've been into old Hondas since my first "real" motorcycle (compared to mopeds and dirtbikes), a green CL200, back in 1993. I won't go through the entire list of 19 bikes I've owned in my 37 years. My screen name comes from my favorite of them all, a 1965 CB450. It was daily...
