I agree with all comments here. Given my lack of mechanical knowledge and the fact that the bikes look relatively (I use that loosely) similar, my conclusion would reside in the ride of each. If it were me, I would ride both of them in the same day and make the decision on which one "fits" me...
I'm open to it. What do you have? I can't really think of anything at the moment that I have to have. However, I do need some help putting knee dents into my tank. Know how to do that?

Thanks. I checked USPS and FedEx...too expensive, in my opinion. You would do better to order them new from Viet. USPS had approximately $43 U.S. and FedEx was more than twice that. Ouch!

Selling a set of Viet's universal rearsets. This isn't the complete set as I'm keeping the rods. Otherwise, good to go. Only other thing missing as I look at the photo is one of the rubber toe peg covers. What you see in the photo is what I'm selling. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with them...
I lurch. I read. I browse and drool over images. I write, occasionally...but not enough. More importantly, I learn.
Each morning I roll into work, open my email and also my browser. I sip on my coffee and check news and respond to quick-answer emails. I open three tabs on my browser: Yahoo...
Very cool to see another 450! I'm digging the copper color on the frame. While I've not hit paint yet (still tinkering with the core project), I'm always interested in seeing what others are doing with colors. Love the seat...keep posting!

Re: Salzburg '73 CB350 - First Build - Update: Primer on Tank & Tail
Great thread! Keep those pics coming. When you get to the point of striping your tank and seat, I would be interested to see some pics on how you do it (e.g. type of tape, how you taped it, etc.). Are you using a spray gun or...
I have a question for all you riders out there. My '73 CB450 project is progressing quite well. It's a long-term project and nothing I'm attempting to complete any time soon. It's my commuter bike, so my attempt is to keep the projects short so I can actually ride the thing. So far, so good.
My...
If this is anything like mine (CB450 K6), then you'll want to adjust the brakes so it's engaging the brake lever enough to limit travel, but not so much that it actually engages the brake pad to the drum. Hope that makes sense. Essentially, from the natural stop of the brake lever (on the drum)...
On the note about old vehicles and such in Cuba, I agree that it would be pretty awesome to take a look at what they have. I saw a special a while back about how they keep up their old bikes (that, in many cases, look pretty damn awesome by the way) by forging their own spare parts. Lots of...
Yep...that's the one. I have the actual cap. The old latch/button is broken. The spring may also be toast so if you have that, too, I would take both. It's pretty small so I'm not overly worried about look. I can clean it up a bit before putting it on.
Let me know!

Looking for anyone's old CB450 or similar fuel tank latch. Specifically, the one that doesn't require a key. Have a broken one I need to replace.
Thank you!
Tim
Also, you might want to take a look at the rubber gasket rings in there. There are two (one big, one little). My little one had gone slack after many years so I replaced it this last time. If you are leaking, you might need to change those rubber rings.
