Bike looks great,adding rear-sets with those bars? The standard XS tanks look good for a stock tank and goes with the over all Cafe theme better than a lot of stock tanks.

Re: My cb350 project Exactly,you want a nice deep burble,not an obnoxious,loud crappy sound. Weld the baffle to the cone so it it can be installed and taken out as one unit. Secure the cone in the back or wherever you want with a bolt/screw etc. and make sure the font of the baffle sits up...

Going to be a great bike. The RDs are excellent machines. I do hope you stay with the red/white tank,side cover and tail. That was one of the best color schemes for the RDs. Just look at a nice white/red Daytona 400 and you'll see I'm correct. ;)

Good luck and remember to keep it as simple and straight forward as possible. While rear brakes are not as critical as the fronts when you need them you need them to function flawlessly. Some people try to out think themselves and come up with some really suspect shifting and braking...

I see the rear rm support you are talking about and you would lose it if you cut it off,so I would just shorten the rear loop a whole bunch so they don't look so gaudy and use them as your rear set mounts. Shorten it to where they are equal on both sides and the reach to the shifter is correct...

As said with the plugs still in get as much out with air as possible. Most bikes have water drain holes or slots so water and junk doesn't form around the plugs as that's a bad,bad thing. Those drain passages can become clogged if they aren't maintained. After you use air to get all the loose...

Looks fine to me,especially considering that type of Yamaha(XS,SR,Secas,Maxims etc.) are hard to work with without a lot of mods due to their non-horizontal lines.

I really like my 300E as well. Still can't believe how solid this car is for being twenty years old. After you own and drive a car of this build quality you can't help,but realize that the American companies really were selling the American people a load of crap for all those years in the 80's...
