I think it's awesome teaching your kid to weld.......because I weld a lot. Only thing that makes me cringe is the no gloves. No lectures from me but I have had to many mishaps, where heated metal has a mind of it's own and decides to pop like firecracker.

So far.......if you prep the tank.....ie strip a gas tank to bare metal. With a minimum of 5 tanks I give to him to be chromed, brass or nickel plated.
