1979 XS750 *clever moniker goes here*

My clipons arrived from Hong Kong in what's got to be record time. Got those installed and dropped the forks ~0.5" in the triple trees. It feels pretty low. I'll have to make new mounts for the speedo and tach, they look too goofy sticking up like that.

Made myself a cheap manometer to sync the carbs and spent a few minutes getting that all sorted out. It's just 3/8 OD tubing and a T connector. The XS750 already had vacuum syncing ports built in to the cylinder head. Each of the tubes connects to each of the ports and the carbs are set...

IT LIVES ;D ;D Finally got a battery, charged it up and put it in. Hit the starter, nothing happened. Tightened and checked everything, put new plugs in, tried again and it fired up. It idles with the choke on, but as soon as I give it any throttle or turn the choke off it dies. I'm still...

1" internal spacer and dropped max 1" in the triples for starters, we'll see what the clearance is like when that's done. Didn't get a whole lot done today, got the rest of the tank stripped and started mocking up for metal fab. I'm a little concerned about rear wheel clearance, don't know if...

Started stripping the tank. I'm thinking of painting the tank either gloss black or british racing green with 2 white stripes up one side, from the mini fairing thing all the way back to the seat hump. I'll be picking up sheet metal and perforated steel for the seat, mini fairing, electrical...

    1978 Honda XL250s Brat tracker/scrambler

    I'm almost certain it would.

Started tearing into it. I think I'm going to use a stock battery, but make a nice stainless battery box and perforated steel side covers. Does that engine ever need a good scrubbing.

Astounding. If you're the same Knifemaker87 from Bladeforums, double kudos.

So I did some sketching. Here's approximately where I'm going with this: OR Shortened forks, re-positioned headlight, clip-ons, pod filter, different muffler, maybe rear sets. I'm on the fence about the hump.

Hey all, I've been lurking here for a while. I'm a 19 year old automotive engineering tech student from Ontario, Canada. I've done some puttering around on the carbs on my honda VF750 magna, but last week I decided to jump in with both feet and pick this thing up for $200: I'm using...

    1978 Honda XL250s Brat tracker/scrambler

I like where this is going. I just got a 1982 FT500 (similar engine to the XL) and plan on making a sweet tracker out of it.

    1972 CB350 Swingarm bushings

I'd love to do that but the swingarm is several hours away right now, as is the rest of the bike. I'm a student and I have access to the student machine shop.

    1972 CB350 Swingarm bushings

I have access to a machine shop and I have the skills to make my own swingarm bushings but I don't have any dimensions or a bushing for reference as my bike is in a different city. Does anybody have one kicking around that they could measure? I need inside diameter, outside diameter, diameter of...

    Hello from Ontario

Alright, so this is my bike: 1972 CB350 twin. I call it my Harry Potter bike because right now it lives in a cupboard under the stairs, but great things may come of it. It's mostly complete except for electronics. I'm going to have to start from scratch there. I've got a buddy holding on to a...

    Hello from Ontario

Engineering tech is run by the engineering faculty but it's more practical, less theory. I'm specializing in automotive technology, which will get really neat as I progress, but first year is general math and science. I'm kind of hesitant to start a build thread because I don't know when I will...

    Hello from Ontario

Hey all, I'm an 18 year old from Barrie, studying engineering tech in Hamilton. I live in a dorm which doesn't leave a whole lot of opportunity to work on bikes but I have a 1972 CB350 twin at home that I'm fixing up. I've been lurking here for the past couple months but now that I have a...
