    Bare bones electrical

I received the regulator in the mail yesterday, thanks for sending that so quick. I am going to try and install it today but did notice a black wire. I have a 6v so run the 4 wire rectifier. Can I leave the black disconnected presuming the red lead still charges the battery via converted AC, the...

    Bare bones electrical

Sonreir, Do you have a voltage regulator that would work with the 6v system? I'm in Portland so if your close I could pick it up. I have a sealed battery and read the output voltage at mid range rpm and it runs at 8v so I need to get it regulated before I ignite myself.

    First Project Bike Help

+1 for the 550. Clean bike means less money. Look for rust on spokes/rims/tank, actually everywhere. Light rust can be conquered with metal rescue or Apple cider vinegar but heavy rust means new parts. Brazing a gas tank full of pinholes can become a tedious and spendy process. If you can take a...

Need help with a CB125s project!

I have a 1975 CB125. I got a new throttle cable off of eBay for 20$. They are pretty easy to find. I also purchased a new throttle control from DCC for cheap and it works great. Clubmans on this bike are okay if you fit rearsets or don't mind a bit of an odd seating position. I got a set of...

    Dynamic Timing.

Evening all. I was wondering if anyone here has used Harbor Frights timing light successfully? I have set the static timing on my CB125 and the the spark goes at the "F" mark. I was wanting to set the dynamic timing but do not have the cash flow at the moment to purchase a good strobe. If...

    Bare bones electrical

I am trying to get a cb125s2 running but don't want to mess with the lights, accessories. So here is a brief synopsis of system. There are 4 leads coming from the alternator. Green/red going to neutral, pink, white, and yellow. White connects to a yellow/white and runs to the headlight control...

    72 CL350 uneven exhaust pressure

Im a little confused did you check compression at the plugs? Low compression in one cylinder usually indicates a bad exhaust valve. Low compression in two adjacent cylinders typically means you have a bad head gasket. Low compression in all cylinders would tell you the rings and cylinders are...

    74 cb125s frustrations...

That sucks, I ran into similar issue with my 75 CB125. Sounds dumb but your ignition is on and switched to run right? I have to check as I spent 15 minutes trying to kick over a bike because of this. Also, I had a battery that died and showed good after charging but it was not alive enough to...

    Front wheel bearings

Hey all. I am replacing the bearings on my CB125 and in the past I have packed the bearings, hub, and spacer with grease. I am using sealed bearings this time around so am wondering if I can skip packing the hub and spacer with grease. Any help is appreciated. Cheers

    hondakeys.com great service

I purchased a 75 CB125 with a lost ignition key. I didn't want to buy a whole new ignition switch as I wanted a key that would match my steering and helmet lock. I contacted Mark T. Troxell at hondakeys.com and he sent me an old og Honda key to match my ignition. 15$ and 4 days later it arrived...

Bought a bike in boxes... now what.

+1 for zip lock baggies and labeling. That was my method on my current build. I set up my frame, swingarm, triples first and then did a lot of staring at parts Fische, drinking beer and building it up. Once built up and running I tore down replaced parts rebuilt engine and began to rebuild...

Build of a Honda CB125S (DIY Digital tachometer)

Re: Build of a Honda CB125S Sounds interesting. I'm guessing the strange peaks are caused by the back EMF created by the collapse of the magnetic field in the ignition coil. With a 12v ignition system the primary of the coil is at 12v whenever the points are open, and at roughly 0v whenever...

    CB125 Oil In Generator Case

Thanks for the input. I did a bit more research after your comment and it's normal for my CB. Threw me off as there is no gasket on the case hopefully it won't leak oil. May cut an old tire apart to make one if it starts leaking. Appreciate the feedback thankfully I won't have to tear the engine...

Hey all. So I spent some time looking on the site to see if there was an answer out there and there were for some other engines so I just want to make sure it is normal with my engine as well. I have a 1975 CB125 that I have been building from boxes. Big step forward today I got the the...
