Cb350f ignition help needed, coils getting hot!

I haven't tried anything since the first day I created the post. I'm not here to get into an Internet arguement, I'm here to get my bike running. I appreciate your input. As I stated the bike isn't running yet, I'm trying to get that going. I think the one may have either failed or was just a...

Cb350f ignition help needed, coils getting hot!

I get hot enough to even burn my finger but there's no way an engineer would let there being a product on the darn thing that would cause a part to fail by accidentally leaving the key on. People complain more of a dying battery than a fried cool over leaving the key on. I've started up a ticket...

Cb350f ignition help needed, coils getting hot!

I get don't leave the key on but I can imagine that it was never intended to sell a product that can overheat and be destroyed by leaving the key in the on position. Something must not be right... The bike was previously laid on its side for 15 years so I'm trying to get a non-runner running, so...

Cb350f ignition help needed, coils getting hot!

I actually had the tank off and on the seat. The right (inner cylinder) coil was getting considerably hotter than the left. Think the resistance plugs could be a part of it? The coils are cb750/900 coils so that they have replaceable plug wires. More resistance=more heat.

Cb350f ignition help needed, coils getting hot!

My idea was a weak ground could do something similar. I'll go and double check everything now.

Cb350f ignition help needed, coils getting hot!

Hey guys! With summer here, I'm really getting excited to get this bike running, but I seem to be at a stalemate. I've been working on this bike for a bit now and making leaps and bounds. Just yesterday I was able to kick it over for the first time(s) and amazingly it started and ran for about...

    Honda CB350F charging circuit help

Well I decided not to give up on this r/r and move on! I came across this link a couple weeks ago while trying to search for what the white wire is for. I still have no clue, but it seems unnecessary for moving forward. Check it out, I'll let you guys know the results...

    Honda CB350F charging circuit help

Hey guy! I'm working on a 73' CB350 four and I love the thing even though it doesn't even run... (yet). I'm updating all the electronics and have a new universal regulator/rectifier but I'm unsure of what the white wire does coming out of the generator. Can anyone check this over and see if it...

    Shag's driveway build 73' CB350f

Well new updates. Working hard to try to get this thing running. I've cleaned and line the tank, rebuilt the petcock. Swapped the coils, new points and condensers are in. Moving a lot of stuff around. The newest tray is decent, I've still got more changes but it's nice just having something...

    Shag's driveway build 73' CB350f

Alright you guys, I need some more help. I'm putting in a universal regulator/rectifier and I'm confused on what to do with the white wire that was on the old regulator. The three yellow are pretty obvious, as is the ground and positive output... Is that just now null and void because it only...

    Shag's driveway build 73' CB350f

I just made the 3d printer, I'm not ready to make a vacuum former. That looks great, though! Trying other designs and seeing where that takes me. Started positioning things where I want them on the tray, the idea is going to be to make holders where the items will be, on the bottom will be holes...

    Shag's driveway build 73' CB350f

Alright, making great progress on the bike in between the rain drops. I've made some progress on the electronics tray, I'm getting super antsy to get the wiring done. First pic was some spacers I made to calculate the size, then attached them together in tinkercad and printed it out. I'm super...

    Shag's driveway build 73' CB350f

A nice stint with fleabay has brought me a slew of items! Coils, wires, plugs, condensers and points, mosfet regulator/rectifier, new hand controls, throttle cables, clutch cable, tires, brake rebuild kit, and a Ballistic Evo2 battery. Lots of progress will be made once this pesky rain leaves. I...

    Shag's driveway build 73' CB350f

And so here we are... It's been a grueling winter here in Virginia, and after settling some business, I was able to buy a crap ton of parts, so with that being said there will be many new updates very shortly!

Carb spacing for 360 and 350F

Haha, thanks for the inspiration! I'll get on it shortly! The diameters that I used were outside, so that I'd be able to use hose clamps and silicon tubing to connect the manifold/carbs.,
