Hey Eric,
Welcome to DTT. Looks like a good foundation to work on. Biggest thing is that most of the parts are there. I know you may wind up chucking most of it at some point, but trust me, don't throw any parts out. I made the mistake early on of getting rid of most of the parts that I...
Islip town hall has vintage cars every Saturday afternoon. I haven't been out there yet this season, but there was some nice stuff there last year. There's room for bikes too.
Hey there, welcome to the site.
It looks like you have a decent starting point. If you have all the parts necessary to get it running, you should start with that first. You can start making changes to the way it looks later. There really is not a lot that you cannot do with standard hand...
Hey great job on the bike. I have a the same setup with dual emgo shorties on my CM400 and I've tried several different things to quiet them down. Nothing seems to work well. I did find a company that makes tuneable mechanical baffles for these. I haven't gotten them yet, but I may have to...
I gave up trying to tune for pods. I upped the jets and shimmed the needles. It didn't seem to make much difference. In the end, I decided it was more important to get the bike running right rather than looking cool. If you are going to run pods I think you need to get good ones, i.e. K&N...
Holy crap! Very nice work. Very clean design. I like this one even better than your last one. I would have never thought to use silver for the frame on a bike with those colors. Somehow it works.
It's really hard to get a car without power windows and A/C these days. I would recommend that you just buy any Toyota or Honda. Every manufacturer has some issues with their cars at some point (some more than others), but your power windows will work for a very, very long time without...
That revolver is pretty cool. I thought about getting that also. Let us know what you think after you use it for a few rides. Modular is nice when you're stopped at a light and trying to talk to someone.
I picked up one of these and love it. Snell M2010 full face satin black for $179 free shipping and no tax. They also have a photochromatic shield (likeTransitions glasses) as an option which is pretty cool. The face shield is ridiculously easy to take on and off. and the vents work really...
I'm on Long Island too. Have you checked out Rainbow powder coating? They have been doing PC since the 80's.
Last I remember they did some nice work. Couldn't tell you how their pricing is now though.
Re: 81 CM400 Resurection
Thanks Frank. Its no masterpiece, but it is fun to ride and I've already had several compliments on it. There's not much around here other than Harleys and Hyabusas.
Re: 81 CM400 Resurection - FINISHED!!!
Finally time to pop open a beer and relax. It's pretty much done. There are some things that I will probably do over the winter, but right now I'm just happy to be out riding. I put about 30 miles on it and it seems to run pretty good. There's still...
