Both pretty ghetto. Try a new HJC FG-17 in flat black. Full face, Snell 2010, DOT, regular visor, ventilation and not much more cash.

Yup. My last three lids have been HJCs. Love them. Comfortable, light, great ventilation and killer price.

If you look up the Nolan N43 (can get good deals on ebay for last years) I bet you'll dig that too.

The Gringo is fine for quick snaps around town, but no flip up visor, no ventilation...

I ride with my Shoei RF1100's visor cracked open so often, I'm not sure how I'd survive with the Gringo and a shield snapped on. I wear glasses, so I can't just slap a pair of goggles on, and I'm clearly too much of a pussy to ride on the highway with an open face or just my glasses protecting my face. I've had a few stones bounce off my shield.

Full face, good ventilation, light weight. Buy what fits best within your budget. You can get DOT and SNELL at just about any price point. After that it's bells and whistles and weight.

I picked up one of these and love it. Snell M2010 full face satin black for $179 free shipping and no tax. They also have a photochromatic shield (likeTransitions glasses) as an option which is pretty cool. The face shield is ridiculously easy to take on and off. and the vents work really good. If you ride at night or around dusk, the bugs slamming into your face shield will make you glad you have one.

Nolan's cool, havent seen anything like that before.

Think I decided on this though:

That revolver is pretty cool. I thought about getting that also. Let us know what you think after you use it for a few rides. Modular is nice when you're stopped at a light and trying to talk to someone.

Once you have a helmet with a sunshield you'll never go back :)

The Bell Vortex has a great ventilation system, but.... They are loud. People don't realize it's not the bike that makes you deaf, it's the wind noise, and now that most helmets have areas for ear pods, Bluetooth etc, the wind noise on most helmets is pretty serious. I always carry ear plugs to take the edge off. But I love the ventilation system, it's one of the best I've ever had. Actually, I don't think I've ever had a better system...
