    1965 Mustang

Haven't been around for awhile, thanks for the comments! I have a 306 being built for me right now. It's going to be about 10.5:1 compression, aluminum heads, roller cam, etc. I picked all the parts but I am having someone else assemble the shortblock. All indications is that it would be about...

    CB400F TAIL LIGHT

Tail light should always be on. It's switched off the ignition with the brown wire as others have suggested. Whenever I encounter an old Honda with wiring problems, I know I'm on the right track when the tail light comes on. So if it's not on, you got issues very early in your electrical system...

    Best vintage tires

I didn't get that at all. He came across with the attitude of he knows what he wants to do with his bike so answer the question if you can or shut up. Tech threads really should have better signal-to-noise ratio. If people want to get on their soapbox and pontificate about bikes, there's a...

"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

I thought the definition of a streetfighter was "I dropped my gixxer and my parents wouldn't pay for new plastics..."

    So whats everybody look like?

Nah, it was good timing, it's just all the shit talking me and my friend did about all the partying and girls that were going to be in the hot tub didn't really happen because I was only single for like two weeks after I got it.

    So whats everybody look like?

Hot tub and Boone's Farm. When I was a young lad we'd score a few bottles of Strawberry Hill and then sneak into a hotel hot tub. I am surprised I never got arrested back then. Now I have a hot tub in my backyard. Of course I got it and then met my girlfriend like two weeks later. WTF.

    1973 Honda CB500 - f***er

The fender is off my CB650 (but they are all pretty similar among the SOHC4s). I removed the light and cut off the front section with the original mounting holes. Then I drilled some new holes (two mounting holes and two holes for the turn signal, plus four more for the tail light). I also had...

    Honda CGL 125 Mexican Build

Thanks for the explanation, Erskine. I would find it hard to believe that Honda would put out a crap engine. Their OHV engine is probably the pinnacle of the technology.

CB550 - Wont idle, cold cylinder

What year CB550? '78 with PD46 carbs have smaller jets (90 main, 38 slow as opposed to 100 main and 40 slow) and depend on the very restrictive muffler and stock airbox to run right. This was an emissions thing back in the day. Does choke change anything?

    1970 Honda CL450 "Ginger"

Haha, I am a good guesser. Not too many places in the Denver area are going to have a house of that style. Certainly big houses in a few of the neighborhoods, but not that style.

Is that house by the Denver Country Club on the golf course?

    lets see your patches :-)

No offense, but isn't putting a "Rockers" patch on your jacket like wearing a T-Shirt that says "Punk"? Or putting "Cafe Racer" on your motorcycle (hopefully in either ugly Old English lettering or the Norton font)? It seems a little bit odd to me. It seems like if you are these things, you...

    1979 CB750

When it comes to shocks you have to understand how meaningless the term "better" is unless it has been put on a shock dyno. A shock has one job. It's either capable adequately damping the chosen spring. Or it isn't. I'm not going to harp on this anymore but I generally take personal...

    1979 CB750

Those shocks are probably China crap. I saw shitloads of them on ebay. If MC shocks are anything like aftermarket automobile shocks, if you put the vast majority on a shock dyno you will probably find that they exhibit the following characteristics: 1) They perform worse than OEM in every...

Rest easy, my friends. I have arrived.

If I was starting over I would get a CB360 or an RD350.

Rest easy, my friends. I have arrived.

I got my CB550 in July for $1200 running/titled, which was probably expensive but I haven't seen a CB500 / 550 or 750 around here under $2000 in a long time. I guess CBs are a little boring since everyone has them but the engines are pretty reliable. Having a bank of four fucking carbs sucks...
