1979 CB750

i just replaced the throttle cables and choke cable. This bike is so fast and sooooo responsive now.

i also drilled out the dynojet mains just because it felt like it was running a little lean. and now the bike screams! With the one tooth down in front the bike accelerates so fast.

Those shocks are probably China crap. I saw shitloads of them on ebay. If MC shocks are anything like aftermarket automobile shocks, if you put the vast majority on a shock dyno you will probably find that they exhibit the following characteristics:

1) They perform worse than OEM in every situation you throw at it
2) They perform differently shock to shock
3) If adjustable the adjustment knob does not do what you'd expect/what is advertised
4) The adjustment knob does different things shock to shock including the complete opposite

I don't know much about the players in the aftermarket MC shock world but I'd expect that if you're not paying top dollar, and even sometimes if you are, you're getting junk.

But, I believe there is a DTT member who rebuilds them and makes them work better than new. Am I correct on this???

When it comes to shocks you have to understand how meaningless the term "better" is unless it has been put on a shock dyno.

A shock has one job. It's either capable adequately damping the chosen spring. Or it isn't.

I'm not going to harp on this anymore but I generally take personal evaluations of shock absorbers with a grain of salt. People love to say what a good or bad job a given shock will do, or claim one is better than the other, and they really have no clue. Unless it's super under damped. Anyone can tell what that feels like.

I'm back under a new handle. This my build and I'll be updatin it in the next few days.
