    Front Rotor Spacing?

Yeah, I'll crank them out, I was just curious about possible accelerated piston wear or the such....always looking to learn something. Thanks for the replies.

    Front Rotor Spacing?

I am in the process of grafting a modern front end onto my CB750 and have a quick question about front brake rotor spacing. After doing all the measuring and triple checking it I have calculated that a 1.5mm (a little over 1/16") per side is needed for the rotors to be centered in the caliper...

Nice start. Where did you find the ignition switch?

Looking for info on this CB750?

I'm not a 100% on this year tank but the two 78K tanks I have, as well as many other tanks, have that unsightly pinch weld all the way around the tank. Looks like this builder cut it off and rewelded it flush. Just gives it a cleaner look and shows off those lines of the tank better.

    SOHC CB750 Engine Install Stand

Frankenfe, all your points/ideas make sense. I will actually be forced to modify the stand at some point when the bike is done for use on a complete bike. I'll tinker around with the design at that point. I literally built that stand around the engine. I'll do the same when the bike is...

Looking for info on this CB750?

Thanks. I actually have a '92 GSXR 1100 arm heading my way, just haven't gotten it yet. Didn't recognize it on a bike. This vintage of GSXR, Bandit 1200, and RF900 arms are all real similar and I found alot of guys in the older Katana world are swapping them in because they lend themselves to...

Looking for info on this CB750?

DrJ, nice catch on that, I didn't even see it. It does look sharp, I'm going have to go look at my scrap tank and practice.

Looking for info on this CB750?

Can anybody steer me toward some information on this bike? Mainly interested in the swingarm conversion. Thanks. http://caferacerspecial.blogspot.com/2011/11/cb750-cafe-racer.html

    1978 CB750K Project

Here is the link to the requested information on the engine install stand. It is pretty long but I was trying to minimize questions if possible and contribute something worth while to the forum. http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=31317.msg339242#msg339242

    SOHC CB750 Engine Install Stand

No Sir, just posting the info up for some guys that requested it. Forgot to post up measurements....standby for yet another post.

    SOHC CB750 Engine Install Stand

Okay readjust for level if needed. My stand doesn't flex much but I do check it. You are left with something like this: In comes the frame: For posterity sake here are some places I threw tape on to indicate the common areas that get beat up during the exercise of "sliding" the frame...

    SOHC CB750 Engine Install Stand

NEXT! Okay so now comes the hookups. Notice as you look through this next bit the stand grabs the engine from the top mostly in the center to allow the frame to come in. Three attachment points that won't cause damage to the frame or a nicely finished engine are as follows. 1.) Front right...

    SOHC CB750 Engine Install Stand

I've had a couple of requests in my build thread (link in sig) to post up some rough measurements and ramblings about an engine install stand I cobbled together from some scrap metal. I know it looks strange but it works, so just humor me. Exhibit A: Which allows me to go from this...

    1978 CB750K Project

This one? I appreciate the heads up. The CBR suspension upgrade obviously presents the same challenges I'm coming accross. Aligning the shock angle with the rear down tubes of the CB750 was something I had already addressed in my drawings of the bike as seen below in this diagram where I...

    1978 CB750K Project

Alright, Gentleman, I had an excuse to go put the engine back in the frame tonight so I snapped some pictures and took some quick measurements. I will start a separate thread for the "Install" stand specs tomorrow and link it in here as well. Joey, good to hear from you. I will send you a...

    1978 CB750K Project

Thank you. Give me a bit to take some decent pictures and overlay them with some measurements for you. Just understand I am not an engineer and this was more of a welding project than anything......at least you can get a good laugh at the weld quality and all the warping and burn-through...

    1978 CB750K Project

Thank you, I hope it comes together. I was staring harder at the ZZR swingarm today and after messing with it for months I discovered it will not work without mods I can probably avoid with a different arm. It appeared to be symmetrical but is off by enough that dual shocks would be a stretch...

    CB550F Cafe Interceptor

Thanks that helps alot with some of my planning. I think my clearancing will pretty similar to your setup. I am using different calipers so I need to get ahold of one to sacrifice. I'm sure cylinder bore thickness is similar accross the manufacturers but I might as well make sure. Thanks again.
