Got the right side all mounted. Just gotta take her for a test ride to confirm everythings good to go, and stop as I rebuilt the caliper and installed new pads.

Re: My Rearsets.

Didn't read through the thread, was just checking out the pics. One question:

You can't kick-start unless you close the footpeg, right?

Re: My Rearsets.

WOW.. that awesome Rob.
They look great!!... You just drilled holed into the frame... I wish it was that easy in the cb's..

Yeah, the foot peg is in the way. So is the brake pedal itself. The peg folds up, but is spring loaded. I'd have to remove the spring, or rig up something to hold the peg up. The pegs pivot bolt just has an E-clip holding it in, so I guess I cold just pull out the pin when needed.
The pedal stops the kickstart lever as it nears the bottom.
I haven't tried kicking her over since I installed the set up. Been using the electric since.

Not too difficult to set up Noel.

Re: My Rearsets.

I used a set from a GSXR1000, 2004 I think, on my KZ1000. While mine didnt mount quite as easily as the ones shown here, it still wasnt bad.

Re: My Rearsets.

I did use the kickstarter this Fall, as I killed the battery somewhat riding around Lake Simcoe in first and second gear with some driving lights on.
Stopped to take some pix, and when I tried to leave there was not enough juice in the battery to start her up with the electric starter.
I un-clipped the footpeg and removed it, and used the kickstarter. Fired right up.
I have painted the rearsets Gold since last time.
