that side of that bars has 9 wires going through it... too much for a 7/8 bar... i will keep it clean and have it attach and be wraped on the choke cable. you will never even know it is there. the other side is in the bars.
got alot of little odds and ends done tonight, went over the WHOLE bike, torqued everything to spec, got the rear tire alighned and torqued, new cotter pins in where they need to be, 1 rear turn sig mounted (the other is drilled out and ready to go, but i need to solder on an ext for the wiring, brake light and plate support are mounted, new riser bushings are in and torqued, chain is adjusted, front clutch switch wiring all hid, and trottle/clutch cables all routed and buttoned up... only things left: lube chain, put back on tank, re possition LED kit back on, solder in brake light and tuck wires, solder in last turn signals, add the front turn sigs... and she is back on the road!
looks good. I don't really like the reflective clear coat, but it's not my bike. I would have gone with black though, but at least she'll be a lot more visible when light hits her!
it is a girls bike so it kind of plays in... i have 3 lbs of black stardust powder waiting to be used on her scoot if she changes her mind... hell i can strip the clear and have them completely powdered in under 2 hours if she changes her mind... we will see what she wants to do after i finish the dove tail... we may have to powder them to cover some of the body work if i can not get the brazing to lay smoooooth
they are going bye bye... i need the mill to cut them out (the one side uses them for muffler supports) Mitch (my machinest) has been on a month long fishing trip up north... when he gets home ill pop out the swing arm axel take them off, cut off the peg section and use the mill to make it look like it belongs like that... then powder them black.
Damn Joe, over 1600 reads on a 13 day bobber build posted a cafe forum?? LOL, you do have a following, hehe. Bike looks great! I love all the changes. The reflective clear puts me on the fence though, but I don't have to ride it. She may end up loving it. That would be cool. I think the silver really makes the rasberry stick out. If it were black it might blend. All depends on what you are going for. Like pawn said, it's not my bike. Anyway, I still love the changes. Make sure you post up some video or photos of her riding it.
will do will do! i got a fairing last night for her bike... looks like this :see below: it is a t sport fairing off a dyna harley.... the shield is completely adjustable and she will be able to snap it on and off depending where we are going, it offers complete proteciton. I know this is not for alot of you guys, but she likes to be comfortable when she rides... and she DOES ride... we take several trips to Mo from chicago every year so wind protection is nice... and come on! you know i am not going to leave it stock! got to put my own twist on it!... she has a reg shield but i got hit by a drunk driver last year on her bike when i went down the bike went into the woods and I went across the road... only thing that happened to her bike was it scratched the piss out of the shield... i was actually still standing upright and running against a grass hill... he only clipped my front tire and that was enough to send me off... then he took off... cool huh? lame ass... anyway, i like to be diffrent so a custom bike should have a custom shield... here is what a t sport shield looks like
Man there is nothing like a little protection and that's looks practical without looking going over the top If you lady is happy then your happy, i say :
all done! 250 miles today... wow just wow, she loves it! LOOOOOVVVVEEEES IT! now i need to finish the other fender and the fairing but at least she is riding... had to update, going out for a late nigh cruise!
I think her smile says it all bro!! nice work, i hope my wife smiles like that when hers is done LOL, (still freaks me out that you guys up there dont have to wear helmets????)
made a few adjustments, changed out her mirrors... move her bars a bit so they are higher... she loves it... the new gears in this thing really SCREAM! got to still make up the shield mounts so i can mount up the fairing, and dropped off the dove tail fender to have my buddy clean up the wild welds on the back and braze that in so that i can grind and tool that as well... i will say it gets a TON of attention! there was a crowd of girls around the bike last night at the bar. love it!
