Re: 1968 CB350....What do you think of the rat tank?.....
Thanks a bunch guys. I think the tank came from a CB175 so I have to start looking for a gas cap. My buddy is going to stripe the tank and headlight bucket.
Just got my chain on. Once I finish the clutch cable the bike should be ready to roll. Keep your eyes open for the XS650 build coming up as soon as this bike is done. Just scooped an XS650 rider. Perfect shape for 200. Better believe that one is getting a similar treatment!
Re: 1968 CB350....Most of the welding is done.....
The pics are a little late and I didn't take any close-ups but you get the idea. Finished up welding the crossbeams in place on the swing arm over the weekend. Also relocate the original kick stand. Finished mocking up the hinge for the seat mount and the spring perch for the rear. Once that is done this Sunday I will get better photos up.
About 20 minutes after I took this photo I put the chain on too. Actually is starting to look like a rider again.
Re: 1968 CB350....What do you think of the rat tank?.....
have to say man... i am not feeling the way your clutch is set up. if you are going to rock that set up look at a rev lever off a mountain bike or something, looks much cleaner, either that or chop down the lever, looks a bit weird. still got love for the bars
Re: 1968 CB350....What do you think of the rat tank?.....
main goal right now is to ride next week. I'm actually thinking about chaining the shifter to something I can grab under my leg. We'll just have to see what happens after I get the feeling for how it rides.
Re: 1968 CB350....Dumping buddy's Buelle= Broken wrist and no more work for a while.
took a mean spill on the buelle and will have to postpone progress for a while. broken wrist, whiplash (combined w/ prior back problems), messed up shoulder and leg mean its going to be a long summer and the 350 wont b done anytime soon. so bummed.
Re: 1968 CB350....Dumping buddy's Buelle= Broken wrist and no more work for a while.
bummer... good to hear that it is just some broken and bruised limbs and not a really bad life altering crash... I guess that hardtail won't help your back out any either Heal up soon and keep positive, you will be back in the spirit before you know it.
