1968 cb450 stock -how much to ask, seriously?

Been Around the Block
Hi Guys,

What is a fair price for my 1968 cb450 here in kingston? it could be delivered or kijijied or ebayed but what do we think it's worth to someone who wants an original?

i'm thinking of selling my running 1968 cb450 stock (red). It needs some things-all supplied- to be fixed. I have them all but medical troubles are holding me back big time.
190 -195 psi everything works but these things need done.
I have the following:
1/exhaust camshaft- i have proper one for it
2/ exhaust followers- take your pick of a bunch that are ok.
3/1st/2nd gear is "twwiddly" - i have a spare trans and forks.

It can be ridden etc but won't idle on the bad follower. all original but has been redone for safety ect.. licensed now.
forks slight leak out of bottom bolt (annoying but haven't got time or energy to get to it yet.)

to fix it:

You can change the 1/2 gearset by taking the motor out and flipping it

then you can change the followers/ camshaft right side up- without taking the head off.
then the motor keeps its compression etc. redo the cam chain and away you go.

or pop another motor in and do it that way.

ask about this on hondatwins.net if you want confirmnation. the chrome panels are not dented, just old and the paint is ok.
Tires and chain are new and sprockets good. stock seat available too, but not as good.

I also have spare parts which will be ebayed but can be bought reasonably by the person buying the bike...

So how much is it worth? thevalue of the tank I know about already. my tel is 613-531-7810 kingston, or email me please.

I tried this under cafe help but no response. I also have a lot of spares and a few nos stuff.

more to it, in response to a request,
Yes the bike is licensed and drivable, but the idle sucks due to the worn camshaft follower and the 2nd gear needs a slight twitch to make it find the gear correctly, very annoying as you corner. the key swtich is worn and when i had a fob on it key started to slide out, have a new switch and key too.
will be seeing a surgeon next week which will tell me a tale, right now my pain/drugs keep my energy low so I can't seem to get the other replacement 492 cc engine finished yet- but am on the head now. the new engine bottom end and 492 cc overbore are complete with new parts.
the idea was to put the 492 cc in then with the removed 450 flip it, do the gear, flip it, do the camshaft and put it back in as original (or maybe break the head possibly with my another set of overbored pistons and rings..... )speedo is not original mileage but engine burns no oil and has 190 psi with a worn follower.

the work, if you know 450's , is not that bad. the tank and model are hard to find, check the price of a good '68 tank on ebay if you can find one- quite high. I have enouh NOS parts to do a total resto but they are not cheap - chrome parts, powdercoated parts, NOS mufflers.

If driving to Toronto was easy, I wouldn't have the pain problem and would be fixing it. so thats out for now.

I even have a stock 68 seat, hard to find with white edging, but actually use the later one one, it is better to ride. proper mirrors too,

Wil let you know a week from now hopefullly, have some other NOS goodies probably cheap to the buyer. before my pain problem got worse I have been colllecting NOS stuf for a real beauty resto for years. Now it doesn't look so good.

Cafe Builders? I have another 68 frame and motor with 492 overbore ready to install in motor as well but needs to be built and wired and assembled from the parts that I have. stock engine is together with frame & wheels. carbs harness etc etc in boxes. also hae disc frame with 2 front wheels and progressive brand shocks.
