Hey everyone,

I picked up a 1968 Honda CA175 a while back and I've been struggling with trying to find a replacement ignition coil for it. I've talked with a few shops who's website said they had it in stock, but when i call to order it, it turns out they don't have it nor can they order it from Honda because its been discontinued for quite some time. So if there's anyone out there who can give me an idea of where to find one, or if anyone by chance has one or has one from a different year / model that will work PLEASE let me know. It has to be a 6volt coil with 2 spark plug leads, and the actual Honda part number is 30500-230-000

Heres a link to a site that shows a nice diagram of whats needed..

Thanks

I would say get on ebay and get to looking for a new or used one. Doesn't have to be for a honda, some harleys had that same style coil as well as other bikes.

IF you are gonna keep the bike I would think about converting it to 12 volts too, parts are cheaper.

Thanks for the help. I'm looking at a few right now from that search you posted. I was just worried about getting one from a different bike like you said, because this is my first street bike and i'm still not 100% sure which ones will fit.
