For the last almost 2 years I have been gathering new and good used parts for a restoration project on my CL450. I have spent countless hours cross-referencing part numbers to other models to help in acquiring these parts and have come across some interesting information from time to time. The early CL450A had some significant differences like the front fender and wheel size starting with a 19" wheel and later changing to an 18" affecting the fender arc resulting in two different fenders of the same design. Now I am looking for information about the headlight, after a thorough evaluation of my bike I determined that it is absolutely original and untouched except by nature. The headlight is of the bulb out style meaning the light case is only a case with the bulb being replaceable. The parts manuals only show the sealed beam but I believe the first couple thousand had the standard light with replaceable bulb. Anyone that can confirm this please way in so I can put this to rest . I am using the one that came with the bike either way but it would be nice to hear from someone else with an early VIN on their bike.
