1970 CB175 BUILD.

Thanks for the blog links mate! Everyone is all about teasers, I just finished (well not 100%) this design that will land on the bike if all goes well. Colour is just for ease on eyes, will end up different.

Enjoi!

wow, the seat is beautiful. I haven't read the whole thread, is that varnish? I do some woodwork, myself.

I really like the last design you posted as well. this will be a very classy ride. nice work!

The seat is laminated 8/4 cherry. With a spar varnish. Marine varnish so itll take a beating from weather & UV. My dad made some nice cherry canoe paddles, so thats why I jumped on the cherry train. My first carving. Super fun. Its supposed to look like a bobber pan/cowboy saddle. Old time stuff cant be beat.

Thanks for the props, its a painfully slow process, but I like to poke around with it. My first bike/build after all. Gonna be next year probably when shes ripping. So itll evolve more still as time goes on.

I think I found some vstacks for the OG carbs @ 30 bucks a piece. Other then that its all parts are bought just need some elbow grease to make it happen.

https://www.1977mopeds.com/product/1020/Malossi-Air-Horn-Metal-Filter/ Looks like a similar shape to the "craig hanson" carbon ones, which are race tested.

I really like the new design, and the lines you drew on the tank, but they clash a bit...

I'd proudly use either, but not both.

I feel that Crescent. The tank might end up a bondo/cowboy/indian/raw/chalkboard paint/mess 'd up piece of art. So I may try to swing both, but well see. Most of the raw design sense is coming from that fact that I HATE painting, & will mess it up. So I might as well mess it up good.

haha enjoi! Thanks for peeking & putting in.

Can anyone see the photos in this thread? Now that shit has changed on the site I have to reload them all? EFF?

Sorry Curb, but they don't show up on my phone. Might have to reload them - good time to use photobucket!

Yeah, not getting them here either. I had to re-load my avatar but all the photobucket stuff stuck.

haha this thread is dead dude. All my pics got eaten by a site shutdown. Soooo, Im kinda doing things on my own (aesthetics) for a bit till I get the engine back in. Gonna start a new thread & link to this. Shes slow going, but thats life.

And here I was thinking it was me----- Been reading thru the last 30 or so pages hanging out to see this great seat...
;D
Is there any finished pics on the site elsewhere to check out the bike?

Thanks Rich, bike is still a work in progress. Ive finished the pretty stuff basically, now its the gritty. Im pretty bummed about the loss of pics up. Once I get the motor back in Ill start a new thread & link to this one...if this one is at all helpful without photos? I just got my wheels built....which is soooome news
