Hello, here is the start of my 1970 CB175 cafe project. It was pretty complete and did run when I picked it up. I am just starting to gather the parts I will need and think about performance mods. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what to modify? Should I upgrade the front brakes to a CB 350-450 DLS? Would tapered roller head bearings help with handling? The Clymer manual has a small section in the back that mentions some performane improvements that seem pretty easy to do. Feel free to paas on any suggestions about what works or does not. This is my first project build and any help would be much appreciated.

hay gman.
hows it going?
i installed the clubmans on the bike, looks awesome. check my pics out in the big araies postings.
any way hows the bike coming?????
i saw some side covers for a cl 175 on e-bay, i think that they were for about 30 bucks.
post some more pics of the bike, would like to see where you are with it..
as for up grades, look at www.wemoto.uk, they have gear and chain sets, you can get the gears with less teeth to
get higher speeds. also if you install a pot filter (K&N)about 30 bucks, will have to rejet though. really not that bad to
get a couple more ponies.
also we are getting ready to get our decals, checkered stripes, etc. if you want any you need to pm me soon.
any way, any questions just post and some one will replay..
later.

Hey gman good to see that you have got the bike project going, Tapered rollers are a lot nicer than ball bearings, last time a purchased steering head bearings for one of my bikes I was given tapered rollers even though the bike originally had ball bearings. Worse case scenario you will have to measure the bearings out and have to source your own. Any updates ?
