1970 Honda CB450 "Rose"

I'm Embarrassed.
She's a 1970 CB450 that was built up to be ridden by the previous owners brother. After a year of putting it together he gave up. He could not solve the cutting out issue. After changing coils, batteries, points, condensers. He gave up. I picked it up for $900 with a spare engine and an ass load of parts. I brought it home (after a 20hour Trip from So Cal to San Fran and back in 1 day) and quickly realized what he was talking about. So I started playing with it. After a day of racking my brain I noticed the neutral light would come and go. It would get spark when it was on, and wouldn't get spark when it was off. Ground, its gotta be a ground. So I moved the headlight by accident and the neutral light came on. Moved it some more, neutral light got dim, then turned off. Turns out it was the ground to the left blinker. The paint on the head light holders was not getting a good ground. Fixed that, and I was riding it that day.

Shes got a little oil leak, but I cant wait to tear into her and give it some new gaskets!

My plans? Black Wheels, Black Side Covers and Tank with some gold accents, shorten the seat and frame, ditch the rear fender, clip on bars, bigger headlight, some smaller blinkers and some header wrap for good measure.

Brother that is a nice looking CB450 and you got a great deal! It sounds like you have a nice plan for her!
