First thing first I need to get it running and that would mean clean the carb and check the points etc.

I decided to try my hand at making a seat for the bike so I had a look at youtube and did a lot of reading as well as talking to those in the know about this stuff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AT6P7qaUPLw
here is how I went about it:
IMG_3131_zps0d47b427.jpg

Stuck a bunch florist foam together and started shaping
IMG_3128_zps0312fafc.jpg

IMG_3126_zps0acc8847.jpg

and more shaping
IMG_3129_zps6e2a3c38.jpg

and test fitting (it will sit lower when mounted)
IMG_3148_zpscf442f8e.jpg

Wrapped it in Foil tape and waxed it so the fibreglass did not stick
IMG_3151_zps222ef087.jpg

Then on to the Fiberglas

now off the mould with 3 layers of glass

and a test fit on the bike

I soda blasted the motor and cleaned up a few bits on it.

I have a lot more work to go into the motor yet. It runs

I will note the bolt to "fix a hole" in the side cover of the motor was a funny one. I did manage to get a new to me cover that needs cleaning and some paint.

Awesome project! It's good to see someone else working on a small displacement cafe racer. I will definitely be watching this build.

Looks like a quick fix to save some cash that became permanent. Strange place fora clutch cover to get holed.

I'm doing a 72 CB100, not quite as lucky on the engine, seized......crap.

Forks are in bad shape too.......but, hey, that's what basket case means.

Will be watching to get help and give it, if I can.

Good going so far, engine polishing looks great.

Right now the battle is going to be sorting out rear sets. The frame on this bike is unusual due to the swing arm being furthest out from the frame meaning that you have to clear the chain and movement of the swing arm with the new rear sets.

Here are some Ideas from other bikes.

Working on the seat pan for the fibreglass seat. I used the mounts off of a crappy CB100 seat so that I can attach the seat to the bike with little effort and keep the factory mounting system.

That polishing looks great...............................

The polishing has a long way to go. I just ran them across a buffing wheel to see how they would look. I have two sets of fork lowers so if I don't like the polished look I can always paint one set. And save the other for something else.

I'm wanting to do that kind of stuff with my 100.....but the seized engine has to be dealt with first.

Yea.....that's the easy way out.....

I'm looking to try to rebuild this one.

Considering its the first I've ever tried, and it's a single....how hard can it be.

Got the head and cylinder off, finally.
