Well it happened a while ago. I got the bike running (cleaned carburetors, set timing, adjusted valves). It would start pretty much first kick. The forks were leaking so I decided to rebuild them. It took me about two weeks to get around to it (didn't start bike for about 2 weeks). I tried to start the bike, the plugs weren't even sparking. So I charged the battery not very long, actually just used the charger to start it) and the bike ran pretty strong..... for a bit. The biked died on me a mile from home and would not kick or bump start. It seems to have drained the battery. I put a new (used) stator, I only ran the bike for a couple minutes, it hit 11 to 12 volts with out really revving. I went for a ride and the bike keeps bogging and the light dims out. So when I attach a battery charger to the bike the bike revs up very strong (with charger attached). I checked both stators and swapped between them in back and forth the resistance between the lead .8 ohms and 1.6 ohms slightly higher than the manual specifies (.5 and 1.1 ohms). I attach the voltmeter right out of the rectifier and I get about 6 to 7 volts, half of what it should be, I get 14 volts across when the charger is installed. Any suggestions? I have a spare magnet, the magnet on the bike has pretty good pull. Any easy way to pull the magnet off? Three jaw puller?

Could the rectifier be the culprit? I am going to give the battery a full charge and play with it a little more. The voltage never goes above 14.5, so the regulator is working.
