really? i guess i'll find out once i start riding her!
yeah those screens are quite fine and a very small surface area, you would see at least 10-20% loss in power on a dyno, maybe even more you just cannot move nearly as much air thru the screen, it is impossible
screens like that are never used on a performance velocity stack, it is only something some idiot designer came up with when performance was not a criteria
i love the look of the bike tho best bet would be cut out those screens and adapt some large filters to the stacks, that is if you want the bike to perform as good as it looks

Here goes the fun, carb rebuilding! This is what they look like after you let them sit for years with gas in them. 2 diaphragms were stuck from the gunk, so if anyone else has that issue, easy solution is to just throw the whole carb in boiling water, it expands the metal slightly and the diaphragms will slide right out!

where did you get the velocity stacks?

i decided to dual shock side by side under the seat and have a whole custom rear frame with a 1.5 inch kick-up, so I did more cutting, and welding. Im liking how this is turning out. Shocks came from my Harley.

the joke is where you are mounting those shocks
they are just the stock harley shocks that were mounted back by the axle on the harley ?

yes, but its not a joke, and have you considered that its in that position for "mock" up purposes? So i can determine the right angle for final mounts?

angle has some to do with it, but if you have those that far forward have you considered the fact that they will be way too soft, springing and damping and the fact that you will have a shitload of wheel travel to deal with ?

Shock angle mock up.

you're actually very wrong, its quite too stiff for my liking when taken off the center stand and load added by my weight (175lbs) i barley get 1 inch of sag.

thats better, i thought you were mounting them straight up and down like in the first pic,way forward
you still need to check clearance at full bottom travel carry on it might work ok with those shocks

ok

Finally a rear subframe/seat set up I am happy with. None of the things that was available for purchase made me happy, so I just made my own. Time to wrap it later this week. I wanted that aggressive kick up and a floating seat.
